“Yellowstone” Star Hassie Harrison Calls Her Style the 'Modern Cowgirl': I Love to 'Get Dolled Up' (Exclusive)

The actress tells PEOPLE about her style, friendship with jewelry designer Kendra Scott and getting dressed up for date nights with Ryan Bingham

Yellowstone actress Hassie Harrison loves being a modern cowgirl.

"I’m definitely at my happiest and most centered when I’m surrounded by nature — it’s where I feel most at peace," the actress, who was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, tells PEOPLE.

And when it comes to her style?

"I definitely like to mix it up," the 34-year-old says. "When I’m on the ranch, it’s all about comfort and practicality — jeans and a T-shirt are my go-to. But I also really enjoy the chance to get dolled up." She adds that she and her husband, Ryan Bingham, don't say no to a fancy night out on the town. "Ryan and I are big on date nights, and it’s always fun to dress up for a night out together."

Harrison recently hit the town in Austin — sans Bingham— to support her good friend jewelry designer Kendra Scott's first-ever Yellow Rose store opening.

"Last week the Yellow Rose store opening was incredible," she says. "Kendra’s love and passion for her supporters and the Western American culture is infectious," she says. "Texas women show up for each other, and that night was just that!"

The night was also a chance to give back.

"I also had the absolute privilege of being a judge for this year's Heritage Craft Prize to support and celebrate the incredible makers who are preserving our Western craft culture," Harrison says, noting that proceeds of Scott's Yellow Rose collection go to supporting women artisans in the American West.

She continues, "Supporting fellow artists, especially women, is something I’m deeply passionate about. As creators, we know how important it is to have a community that supports you. Kendra has always been so inspiring to me, not only for her success with the Kendra Scott brand but for the way she uses her platform to give back."

Harrison, who has played barrel racer and ranch hand Laramie on Yellowstone since 2023, made headlines last spring for revealing that she was dating her onscreen boyfriend Bingham, who plays Walker on the show, in real life. In May 2024, she and Bingham, also a singer, got married in a "cowboy black-tied themed" wedding in Dallas.

“I knew I wanted Western, but it had to be elegant Western, with tones of worn leather, delicate lace, and a soft, blush color palette,” Hassie told Vogue of the theme for the big day.

She says that mix of feminine yet bold is also what appeals to her about Kendra Scott jewelry.

"It's unapologetically feminine, but in a way that celebrates all facets of womanhood," she says. "It’s about the strength and individuality of the women who wear it, bold yet elegant designs that are empowering in every way."

She adds, "From my childhood to my role in Yellowstone, I have a close appreciation for the modern cowgirl. The brand is a symbol of that grit and tenacity." And if she had to choose just one item from the collection to gift to her best pals?

"I'm obsessed with the holiday collection," she says. "The Keziah Hoops in vintage gold is my new go-to!"
