Timothée Chalamet's first impression of Bob Dylan's music has arrived.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Dune actor, 28, shared two covers from the forthcoming biopic A Complete Unknown — 1965's "Like a Rolling Stone," and 1963's "Girl From the North Country" — the latter of which features his co-star Monica Barbaro who plays Joan Baez.
While clips of both "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Girl From the North Country" were featured in the film's trailers, the songs hadn't fully been released yet.
The Marty Supreme actor's take on "Like a Rolling Stone" may be much shorter than the original, but it captures the famed singer's gritty sound. Alongside Barbaro, 34, the pair deliver a stunning cover of "Girl From the Country."
On Thursday, Dec. 5, Chalamet replied to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the folk -ock legend who showed his support for the actor.
"There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!)," Dylan, 83, began. "Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me," Dylan wrote.
The "Blowin' in the Wind" musician continued, "The film’s taken from Elijah Wald’s Dylan Goes Electric – a book that came out in 2015. It’s a fantastic retelling of events from the early ‘60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport. After you’ve seen the movie read the book."
The Ladybird star later reposted Dylan's comments alongside the sweet reply, "Floored. I am so grateful. Thank you Bob."

In a recent Rolling Stone cover story, Chalamet opened up about how he prepared to take on the role of The Bard, working with a vocal coach, a dialect coach, a guitar teacher and a movement coach.
“You can’t re-create it in the studio,” he told the publication. “If I was singing to a prerecorded guitar, then all of a sudden I could hear the lack of an arm movement in my voice.”
A Complete Unknown chronicles Dylan's early life and career as he rose to prominence in the 1960s and hits theaters Dec. 25.
