Elin Nordegren famously married Tiger Woods in 2004, but these days a different athlete has her heart: former football player Jordan Cameron.
Cameron played as a tight end for the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins before retiring in 2017 due to concerns for his well-being after suffering from four concussions in six seasons. The same year, he and Nordegren started a relationship.
Now, the couple share a blended family of six children, including Nordegren's two children, Sam and Charlie, with ex-husband Woods, Cameron’s son Tristan from a previous relationship and the pair's three children, Arthur, Zeta and Freya.
Regarding their relationship and family life, a friend of Nordegren's told PEOPLE, "Elin always wanted a big family and loved the idea of a house filled with kids.” With Cameron, "she has that now, living her sweetest dream."
So, who is Elin Nordegren’s boyfriend? Here's everything to know about Jordan Cameron and his relationship with the former model.
He was born and raised in Los Angeles
Cameron was born and raised in Los Angeles alongside his sisters, Brynn and Emily, and brother, Colby.
The retired tight end comes from an athletic family. His older sister, Brynn, played guard on the University of Southern California women's basketball team from 2004 to 2008.
His younger brother, Colby, also played football. He played quarterback on his high school team before continuing his collegiate athletic career at Louisiana Tech University. After graduation, he played professional football in Japan and has worked on Southern Methodist University's football coaching staff since 2018.
Cameron’s grandfather, Jack Cravens, played basketball and baseball at Brigham Young University from 1957 to 1959. Moreover, Cameron’s cousin, Su'a Cravens, is a safety for the Denver Broncos.
He played college basketball before football
Cameron originally played basketball at Brigham Young University but later transferred to the University of Southern California after football scouts saw him helping to train his younger brother, who was still a student at Newbury Park High School in California.
Per Cleveland.com, Cameron ran routes for 10 minutes while his brother threw passes. In that short span of time, Pete Carroll, the former head coach of the USC Trojans, and offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian saw Cameron and determined that the then-basketball player could help their football program.
Due to NCAA rules, Carroll couldn’t speak to Cameron directly, but Cameron was soon made aware that a scholarship would be waiting for him if he transferred to USC.
Cameron was a tight end on the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins
The athlete was chosen by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He played tight end for four seasons before transferring to the Miami Dolphins in 2015.
He retired from the NFL in 2017
In 2017, at age 28, Cameron told ESPN that he was leaving the NFL. "I started thinking about concussions too much," he said. "You can't play football like that."
He also wanted a secure future for himself, his son and his future children. “I want to be there for him,” Cameron told ESPN, discussing his eldest son, Tristan. “And I want more kids, and I want to be present with them. I don’t want them dealing with things that we’ve seen some other guys are dealing with.”
In preparing to leave the game for good, Cameron made it clear that he would miss his teammates more than the game itself. "Some of the best people I have ever met have been football players," he told ESPN. "Every single guy talks about the locker room and how that's the thing they will miss. It's so true. Some of the most down-to-earth, intelligent human beings are in there."
Cameron and Nordegren started dating in 2017
Cameron and Nordegren, who is eight years his senior, met in 2017. Two years later, they welcomed their first child together.
He and Nordegren have a blended family of six children
The couple now are raising a blended family of six children. Cameron and Nordegren have welcomed three children together since 2019: Arthur, Zeta and Freya.
Nordegren also shares two children with ex-husband Woods, daughter Sam Alexis Woods, born in 2007, and son Charlie Axel Woods, born in 2009. Sam’s name comes from the nickname Woods' father called him growing up, while Charlie’s name "just fit," and his middle name comes from Nordegren's brother.
Likewise, Cameron has a son, Tristan, from a previous relationship. He was born while Cameron was a student at the University of Southern California.
Nordegren is living her "sweetest dream" with Cameron
In March 2024, a friend of Nordegren's told PEOPLE that the mental health counselor is enjoying the life and family she has built with Cameron.
"Elin always wanted a big family and loved the idea of a house filled with kids," the source said. "She has that now, living her sweetest dream."
Nordegren and her ex-husband Woods have also become close pals and supportive co-parents in the years since their split.
"They're friends now," a source told PEOPLE. "Everything that happened in the past is in the past. They both decided to be adults and to do what was best for the kids. So they get along really well. Tiger says really great things about Elin. He never complains about her, ever. ... The kids love them both."
