'Sister Wives' Kody Brown Wants To Escape Family Drama With Relocation

Kody Brown explores the idea of leaving it all behind as he opens up about his desire to relocate to Robyn Brown, his fourth and only remaining wife.

In December, before the Europe relocation talk, Kody emphasized his commitment to protecting Robyn from outside attention, making it clear he's unwilling to take any chances.

Kody Brown's wish for a change of scenery comes amid tensions within the family. His relationship with Robyn remains a central focus in his desire to escape the drama.

Kody Brown Has An 'Itch To Move' To Europe

In an emotional moment during the latest episode of TLC's "Sister Wives," Kody confessed, "I got an itch to move so bad, just to get away from the energy of it all."

As he and Robyn discussed the current state of their marriage, Kody expressed his need for a fresh start. "I got to get out of here because this isn't going to work for me because all the memory, all the energy of it, I just don't know," he shared.

Despite the challenges of uprooting his children, with some still in school, Kody noted, "And here's the stupid thing. I've got kids in college, kids in grade school — but I want to move to Europe."

According to PEOPLE, the family's patriarch hopes a move will help him escape the constant pressures that weigh him down.

While Kody discussed with Robyn, the father-of-eighteen admitted to being in a difficult place with his exes, especially Janelle, with whom he acknowledged a major disconnect. 

"We're just not matching up," Kody confessed, pointing to their differing paths since their separation in December 2022. This is not the first time Kody has expressed regret over the troubled dynamics of his past relationships.

In a September 2024 interview with PEOPLE, he reflected on the way he handled his divorces, admitting:

"There's even the regret of the divorce — Meri, Janelle and Christine — those divorces and being angry during those divorces. Sure, I regret that stuff."

The breakup saga began with Christine's departure in November 2021, followed by Meri's public split in January 2023.

Kody may be longing for a fresh start in Europe, but when it comes to his marriage to Robyn, he is not taking any chances. 

Determined to protect his marriage from outside interference, he made it abundantly clear that Robyn was off-limits, shutting down any idea of other men pursuing her.

The Blast reported that Kody openly acknowledged the attention Robyn attracts, admitting there are "a lot of men interested" in her.

His protective instincts were evident when he insisted on attending church with Robyn, explaining he did not want anyone to think she was single. "I want to know that God has been my wingman with you and that nobody can take you away," he noted. 

Kody Is Intent On Protecting His Wife At All Costs

Kody even joked about "mate guarding" to show his dedication to protecting his marriage to keep other men at bay. He expressed concern over potential flirtations, revealing he fears history repeating itself. Kody explained to Robyn:

"I don't want some guy doing that, looking at you and going…holding your gaze." He then doubled down, saying, "I am protecting the pride." 

Robyn, however, reassured him, saying she needed to declare her marital status. Not entirely convinced, Kody asked to inspect the "rock" on her finger, adding:

"I just wanted to make sure that bling was big enough that the guys would stay away from you." 

In response, Robyn laughed and promised, "I'll wear it. You don't need to worry." 

Robyn And Kody Brown's Marriage Struggles Revealed

Despite Kody's protective attitude toward his marriage, a deeper truth emerged. Kody and Robyn themselves acknowledged the difficulties they faced in their relationship. In a candid moment on the show, Robyn admitted:

"We're probably doing the worst we've ever done in our marriage. It's been tough. It's been tough between us." 

Kody, visibly affected by the strain, agreed, with Robyn adding that the fallout from his previous marriages has profoundly impacted their bond.

The mother-of-five opened up further, sharing how she feels like she is constantly walking on eggshells, trying to prevent her husband from sabotaging their relationship. "I'm on my toes. I'm having to consistently make sure that he is not sabotaging our relationship," she confessed. 

Kody Brown's wish to find peace at home or abroad seems to be a challenging journey ahead.
