Canelo Alvarez’s new rivalry with Terence Crawford has heated up as he questioned his potential opponent’s professional record. And he has now responded to the claim on social media, writing: “Lol that’s crazy! So every fighter I’ve fought is not good but one? “Noted! Just remember what you said because I’ve always had the joy in making somebody’s look like nobodies.” Crawford has a stellar record beating some top-level operators while fighting most of the available challengers at the time. But after beating Spence, many believe that ‘Bud’ has yet to receive the huge and big-name commercial fight that he commands as he approaches the end of his career. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has been leading negotiations, with the pair to fight in partnership with Ring Magazine. And he has responded to claims that the deal is close to being reached, hinting that they could be premature. We talked about the video game Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, which will launch on the 24th of April 2025. “I challenged them in the game, this is the only thing I can challenge them with in relation to combat. “They accepted my challenge in the game and we all betting on a dinner on the loser…and we decided that we don’t do the boxing fight because all three of us hate boxing and we decided to choose Yoga instead. “Continue talking, and continue spreading rumors at the end, only the three of us know and decide what and when and where things happen.” Small swipes over each other’s respective records will help build a fight narrative, as talks over a potential clash heat up. Although a public agreement has yet to be reached, Alvarez vs Crawford could well be one of the biggest talking points of 2025 in boxing.
