One news anchor covertly shared her pregnancy announcement during a recent broadcast.
On Friday, Jan. 24, in Columbus, Ohio, NBC 4 news anchor Monica Day and her co-anchor Matt Barnes presented a segment highlighting how “people have gotten more creative with the pregnancy announcements,” as Day put it.
“Some of them don’t go as planned," Barnes added. "Watch as these siblings have very different reactions to their special Christmas gift.”
The broadcast then showed a clip of two children in their matching red Christmas pajamas in front of the Christmas tree.
“Merry Christmas to the best big sister plus big brother,” the young girl named Presley read from the back of a sonogram. “What is happening? You’re having a baby," she asked as her younger brother, named Palmer, developed an unpleasant look. But she chimed in to note how excited she was for the new addition.

As the video concluded, Barnes said, “You might be thinking those kids look familiar,” and Day confirmed, “That's because those are my children. That's Presley and Palmer finding out that there is another baby on the way.”
“It's finally setting in that that's a real, that it's a reality at my age, which you don't anticipate that you're going to be pregnant," Day added.

She confirmed that her son has come around to the idea of being an older brother.
“I do want to mention that Palmer has definitely come around to the idea," Day said.
“He looked like he was on the verge of tears from the first sign of that gift,” Barnes said.
“He was,” Day confirmed. “We spent a lot of time that day talking about it. Presley's hoping for a girl. Palmer, now that he wants a child, is hoping for a boy. But initially, he was just hoping for no other.”
