Leipzig vs Aston Villa prediction Both sides are level in the betting and if you’re feeling confident in Aston Villa bouncing back they look a great price considering they won their first three and then drew 0-0 to Juventus while facing some terrible form in the Premier League. They do seem to have turned things around a bit following that poorer run of games with two straight wins against Brentford and Southampton this month. Leipzig have lost each of their Champions League games so far though and at the same price as Villa don’t really look like great value, even playing at home. Leipzig vs Aston Villa betting tips The German side are joined by only two other teams at the bottom of the 36-strong league who have lost all of their opening five games; Slovan Bratislava and the Young Boys. Their position is a bit harsh considering they only lost 1-0 to Liverpool and Inter, who sit atop the table. Leipzig also lost 3-1 to Celtic, 3-2 to Juventus and 2-1 to Atletico Madrid so they have gone close on numerous attempts but are prone to conceding. They sit fourth in the Bundesliga having also gone on a dip in results with three losses and a draw, their only losses in the division so far. Villa will be desperate for this win for different reasons than Leipzig who will be hoping to spare the embarrassment of successive losses, as they can go into the top eight and not have to face the play-offs if they can hold their position. The English side’s downfall can mostly be attributed to the sudden lack of goals from their star strikers Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran, who between them were netting almost a goal per game in the first few games. Watkins scored in their 3-1 win over Brentford and Duran was back on the score sheet in the 1-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday. These two will be the main threat up top albeit with other players capable of popping up with a goal, like Morgan Rogers and Matty Cash from midfield. Lois Openda is among Leipzig’s main strikers who netted as many as 24 last season in the Bundesliga and this year has five goals in just 13 appearances this term. He needs to get another goal to emulate his decent strike rate in this competition where he scored four in just eight appearances last season. Benjamin Sesko has three goals in just five appearances in the UCL too and will pose a danger to Villa’s back line who haven’t been as secure as they were in the opening few games.
