‘I signed a disclaimer’ – Darren Till reveals new information about Tommy Fury pull-out and calls Fury family ‘bullies’
Darren Till has ripped into Tommy Fury on talkSPORT for pulling out of the pair’s Misfits Boxing fight in January. Fury announced on Friday that his bout against former UFC fighter Till is now cancelled, only weeks after it was announced. Till was furious after hearing Fury had pulled outGetty Both men met at a press conference last month which descended into chaos, though it seems the mayhem was all for nothing. The media event didn’t last long as John Fury, who was upset by Till’s remarks, threw water over him and sparked a scuffle. Before it all kicked off, Liverpool’s Till had threatened to break the rules and knockout Fury with a head kick, reminiscent of his career as an MMA fighter. This is what Fury cited as the main reason for him pulling out of the fight as he took to Instagram and discussed Till’s ‘stupid MMA tactics’. Till has now responded in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT MMA, saying he had signed a disclaimer with Misfits which meant he would forfeit his whole purse if he kicked Fury. The 31-year-old also proceeded to call the Fury family ‘bullies’ within the boxing world. “For years, the Fury’s have always intimidated and bullied everyone at press conferences,” Till told talkSPORT MMA. “At fights, at fight week, at weigh-ins, whatever. That’s what they’ve done. “That’s their thing. It’s all mental warfare, isn’t it? John intimidated Jake Paul‘s father. John [head] butted someone from [Oleksandr] Usyk’s team. “John punched glass to try and punch KSI when KSI was making weight, whatever. It’s not like whatever. It’s all real. But at the same time, you’re building a fight. “I come along. I’m not the hardest man out there. I’m not whatever. “But… I am still one of the best MMA fighters out there, because you’ve got to be the best to get where I got to.” Till made his UFC debut in May 2015 and challenged for championship gold just three years later.
