Halle Bailey Furious With DDG After Son Appears On Livestream
Halle Bailey expresses outrage as ex DDG features their son on a livestream without her consent, sparking controversy online.
Halle Bailey is drawing a line when it comes to her son Halo’s involvement in the streaming world.
"The Little Mermaid" star appeared to indirectly call out her ex, rapper DDG, after he brought their 11-month-old son onto a November 6 Twitch livestream with popular YouTuber Kai Cenat.
The father-son appearance marked the latest guest spot on Cenat's popular streaming channel, but it reportedly did not have Halle Bailey’s approval.
Halle Bailey Was Not Happy To See Her Son Featured In Livestream
Cenat hosted a live baby shower in Halo’s honor during the stream, making Halo the center of attention throughout the evening. The event captured the excitement of fans and viewers as they celebrated the youngest guest’s arrival, with Cenat marveling at how calm and peaceful Halo seemed throughout.
"This is the most calm baby," Kai said during the stream, per E! News. "How y'all got him so chill?"
However, Bailey didn’t share the same enthusiasm. On Wednesday evening, she brought attention to Halo’s unapproved appearance on Kai Cenat’s stream, suggesting her disapproval of DDG’s decision to include their young son in the online spectacle.
"Hi everyone, just so you know, I am out of town, and I don't approve of my baby in front of millions of people," she wrote in the now-deleted social media post. "I wasn't told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. I am his mother and protector, and saddened that I wasn't notified, especially when I am out of town."
Halle Bailey Reveals Her Struggles With Postpartum Depression
Kai Cenat draws in millions of followers each night, and Halle expressed that not being informed about her son’s appearance put her in a difficult position as a mother. She later opened up online, revealing that she is currently dealing with postpartum depression.
"As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected," she said in a follow-up post, which has also been deleted. "Nobody knows what someone is going through until they snap."
Halle Bailey has since deleted all of her social media accounts.
Halle Bailey And DDG Announce Their Break-Up
Halle and DDG first went public with their relationship in 2022. The couple welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023 but ultimately decided to part ways, announcing their split in October.
"After much reflect and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways," he wrote on Instagram Stories at the time. "This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared."
"We cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared," he later added.
DDG Was Accused Of Cheating On Halle Bailey
Before facing backlash for his apparent dig at Halle Bailey in his song "Famous," DDG was hit with cheating allegations in early 2023.
The rapper was accused of being unfaithful to Bailey with his ex, rapper Rubi Rose. In February 2023, Rose claimed that DDG had given Bailey one of her old shirts, fueling speculation online.
However, both DDG and "The Little Mermaid" star quickly denied the rumors, putting an end to the buzz surrounding the accusation.
"The devil is working lol," Bailey wrote in a tweet at the time.
She urged her fans not to trust claims from unverified sources about her relationship, encouraging them to disregard rumors. "Please don't feel into the lies, especially from a third party. Stay blessed everyone."
