Ally Pally taunts Ed Sheeran with brutal Ipswich Town chant at PDC World Championship
Darts fans inside Alexandra Palace were certainly ‘Thinking Out Loud’ when they spotted Ed Sheeran in attendance. The singer and Ipswich sponsor and co-owner was in the crowd at Ally Pally for Friday’s PDC World Darts Championship. And it didn’t take long for the boozy crowd to throw some light-hearted Tractor Boys banter his way. Footage shows Sheeran sat at a table in the arena, waiting for the action to commence. Those around him can be heard singing ‘Ipswich get battered, everywhere they go’ at him. Someone on his table, meanwhile, clearly found the whole ordeal hilarious and stood up, pumping his fist along to the singing. Sheeran eventually raised his cup to those singing at him before continuing in conversation with his pals. The crowd also had plenty of fun by peer-pressuring Sheeran to down his pint, to which the four-time Grammy winner obliged. Dozens of fans above the hospitality area chanted, ‘Have you ever seen Sheeran down a pint’, and it didn’t take long before it reverberated around the venue. Impressively, Sheeran stood up and finished his pint each time the crowd chanted and placed his empty cup on top of his head. Sheeran soon built up quite the stack of cups and was incredibly gracious with fans who came up to him seeking a photograph.
