Dorit Kemsley and her estranged husband Paul "PK" Kemsley are opening up about why they haven't told their kids they're separated.
During the season 14 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the mom of two, 47, shared with the rest of her castmates that she and her husband are separating. In one scene in the episode, PK speaks with Kyle Richards' ex-husband Mauricio Umansky, revealing that he and Dorit have not told their kids yet that they are separated.
“You’re an inspiration to me, both you and Kyle, in terms of how you’ve conducted yourself, right? Now, it’s different for me because my kids are younger," PK tells Umansky.
“Did you talk to the kids?” Umansky asks.

“No. We’re not going to be talking to the kids. So I’m not saying we know what we’re doing, because the truth is…" PK says, trailing off as Umansky speaks over him.
“How old are your kids?” he asks.
“They’re 8 and 10. It’s a very personal thing and no one knows our kids better than us. No one," PK affirms.
In May, the former couple shared that they'd decided to separate after nine years of marriage.
The reality TV star and the English businessman revealed they had parted ways in a joint statement shared to their respective Instagram Stories.
“We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage," the former couple wrote. "We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together."
“To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey," the statement concluded. "With love, Dorit and PK.”
Dorit and PK tied the knot in March 2015 and share two children together: daughter Phoenix, 8, and son Jagger, 10. The news of their separation comes after they denied rumors they were spending time apart in a statement shared with PEOPLE in October 2023.
"We remain committed to working through these issues as a united couple for our family," the Kemsleys said at the time. "We have not separated nor are we planning to do so. Rather, we are focused on healing, making changes and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage."
