Details have emerged explaining why prosecutors investigating Liam Payne's death consider his friend, Roger Nores, a person of interest they intend to prosecute.

Earlier reports indicated that they planned to charge Nores with "abandonment" alongside additional suspects in the case who reportedly supplied Payne with drugs.

The reports also revealed that Nores had been in Argentina with Liam Payne, though they stayed in separate locations.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Payne's friend, Nores, was responsible for the singer's care but seemingly neglected to ensure that he stayed away from drugs or avoided situations where he might be tempted to use them.

In the filing, prosecutors claimed that Payne had texted Nores, "Can you get 6 grams?" presumably referring to cocaine, on the day he died.

They also stated that Nores knew Payne had invited hookers to his hotel room that same day, claiming the singer texted his friend at 7 am with the words, "Dude, I think I'm going to f-ck a hooker."

When the hookers reportedly arrived, Payne allegedly asked them for cocaine, though it is unclear whether they provided any.

By the time Nores returned later that day, Payne was already "visibly drunk" with dilated pupils. However, instead of staying to ensure the singer was okay, Nores simply paid the hookers and left. He did check on Payne via text, but Payne did not respond.

Liam Payne's Friend May Not Face Any Charges

Sources close to Nores have seemingly disputed the contents of the documents, claiming that Nores checked on Payne at least three times on the day he died.

They also mentioned that Nores had only left Payne an hour before the fatal fall from the balcony, and at that time, the singer appeared to be in good health and showed no signs of being under the influence.

Despite the prosecutors being convinced that Nores should be charged with abandonment, it seems that may not happen, as a judge ruled that any case involving alleged abandonment should be handled by local prosecutors, not the national prosecutors who brought the charges.

The decision was based on the judge's belief that the national prosecutors had no jurisdiction to pursue abandonment.

While the national prosecutors tried to appeal the ruling, it was rejected, meaning those charges will now only be pursued if local prosecutors choose to take them up.

In a statement, Nores claimed that he never abandoned Payne and had left the singer in the company of others on the day he died.

"I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel 3 times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened," Nores told the Daily Mail.

He added, "There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen."

He also said that his only contact with the authorities since Payne's death was when he gave them his witness statement and denied being the singer's manager.

"I wasn't Liam's manager, he was just my very dear friend," Nores added. "I'm really heartbroken with this tragedy, and I've been missing my friend every day."

The Singer Reportedly Died Trying To Escape The Hotel Via Balcony

As the investigation into Payne's death continues to unfold, reports have emerged claiming that the singer was seemingly trying to exit his hotel room via the third-floor balcony when he fell to his death.

Prior to the fall, Payne had been brought to the room by hotel workers, as he was reportedly acting "erratic" in the main area of the building, per TMZ.

Apparently not fine with being locked in, Payne reportedly tried to escape via the balcony, which wasn't the first time he had done something like that at places he had stayed.

The theory was further supported by the fact that Payne was found wearing a hat on his head and a bag around his shoulder—items that were not on him when he was taken to his room, as confirmed by the lobby surveillance footage.

Payne's girlfriend was reportedly left heartbroken after footage of his final moments surfaced.

"He could have been saved, he could have been helped," Cassidy's friend told the New York Post. "It's devastating — and infuriating."

"Whenever it seems it can't get more painful for Kate, it gets even more painful," the pal added.

The Daily Mail recently released CCTV recordings of Payne being carried through the lobby of CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he was staying in Argentina.

The timestamp on the clip showed that the video was recorded moments before his tragic death on October 16.

In the clip, three men, who appeared to be hotel employees, were shown carrying Payne as hotel guests walked by.

They seemed to have brought him to his third-floor room at about 4:54 pm local time, as another CCTV camera captured the singer and the three men outside his room at that time.
