Graham McTavish and his wife, Garance Doré, are enjoying life together.
The Outlander star first met Doré on a dating app, and the pair dated for over a year before getting engaged in August 2022. Shortly after, the couple married in January 2023 at a castle in Scotland, where McTavish’s two daughters — Honor and Hope, whom he shares with his ex-wife Gwen Isaac — were in attendance, per Vogue.
Throughout their relationship, McTavish and Doré have shared glimpses of their connection. They have celebrated milestones together with anniversary posts and commemorated daily moments through thoughtful tributes to each other. In August 2024, Doré uploaded photos from a New Zealand trip and gave a nod to what life is like alongside McTavish.
“Last weekend at the beach with mon grand amour," she wrote in the caption. "His kids are somewhere near running around and being wonderful. I don't say it very often, but I feel very lucky to have met him, and them."
Doré continued, hinting at McTavish's career, “He was so worth the very long wait (and all the crazy relocations madness - even I don't always understand what's going on in my life).”
So who is Graham McTavish’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Garance Doré and her relationship with the actor.
She’s French
While Doré enjoys traveling and has lived in several places over the years, she's originally from Corsica, an island off the coast of France.
In an Instagram post from September 2019, she opened up about growing up on the island and her experience of returning to it after exploring other corners of the globe.
“I LOVE coming back, taking it in, reminiscing & romanticizing my childhood,” she captioned a black-and-white landscape photo. "We would fish, hike, swim, our village was a giant playground."
Doré added, “Today I still have a profound connection to nature, a deep bond with my island, and I am proud, warm and a liiiiittle bit slow like a true Corsican - but I also love my American lifestyle and my friends from all over the world.”
She’s an illustrator, photographer and author
Doré launched her eponymous blog in 2006, which led to opportunities as a street-style photographer and fashion commentator. During an interview with Fashionista in August 2017, Doré said she created her blog as a way to get her sketches in front of others.
"I wanted to start blogging because I needed an outlet to share my illustrations,” she told the outlet. “I was kind of frustrated; I thought there must be a better way to progress as an artist and to show my work than just waiting for my illustrations to appear in magazines."
Doré’s blog evolved into a website called Atelier Doré, where readers voiced their opinions on fashion and other lifestyle topics, per Fashionista.
As her online presence grew, she decided to share her work through a different medium. In 2015, Doré released her New York Times best-selling book Love Style Life, which blended her illustrations and photography to capture different chapters of her life.
That same year, she decided to step away from the fashion world. “I was completely burned out. Believe me, I never accept change as a heroine—strong and determined,” Doré told L’Officiel in December 2020. “But in this case, I was committed to it because I felt like I couldn't grow anymore.”
Two years later, Doré launched her podcast Le Rendezvous and uploaded weekly episodes until summer 2023. Today, she has a newsletter and runs a private online community.
She met McTavish on a dating app
McTavish and Doré first met on the dating app Raya. Speaking with Vogue in March 2023, the pair said without the platform, it’s unlikely that they would’ve crossed paths.
“I managed to slip through her algorithm, as she had forgotten to exclude men who resembled grumpy, bearded grandfathers!” he joked to the publication. “I also pretended that I lived in L.A., when I was only visiting because I didn’t want to put her off.”
Doré added, “Even though we would have liked to have met by chance, this probably would never have happened in real life, as we were almost always in different parts of the world.”
McTavish proposed to Doré in 2022
After dating for a year and a half, McTavish proposed to Doré on Aug. 23, 2022, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
During their interview with Vogue, Doré revealed that she was expecting the special question as the couple had discussed marriage early in their relationship.
“I couldn’t wait to get engaged,” McTavish explained. “I’m amazed I waited as long as I did before asking her!”
They married in Scotland in 2023
McTavish and Doré wed in January 2023 at Borthwick Castle in Scotland.
Speaking to Vogue, Doré revealed that the Outlander star planned "98 percent" of their nuptials. “He is definitely the master planner between us," she said. "I asked him if we needed a wedding planner, because the whole thing was freaking me out, and he said, ‘A what?’ ”
For their big day, Doré wore a long-sleeve gown with a lace hem designed by her best friend, Heidi Merrick, while McTavish donned traditional Scottish wedding attire, including a kilt. The pair honored both of their heritages by having a Corsican band, Voce Ventu, play at their wedding, as well as the Glencorse Pipe and Drum Band.
“I literally feel like he gave me the wonderful present of making a dream come to life,” Doré told Vogue about McTavish planning their wedding. “I feel complete, and whenever I think about it, so many emotions come up ... I wouldn’t do it any other way.”
McTavish added, “I was also so pleased to see how many people who came to the wedding arrived not necessarily knowing each other but left the celebration wishing to stay in touch."
She co-founded a skincare brand
In 2022, Doré founded a skincare brand called Doré with her co-founder, Emily Yeston. The skincare line, which features cleansers and moisturizers, is all made in France, per the brand’s website.
Speaking to Beauty Independent in June 2022, Doré opened up about the inspiration behind her skincare line.
“I spent a lot of years on the road and I could never follow a very complicated routine," she explained. "I think this is very French, but I’m somebody that will use my red lipstick as a blush on my cheeks when I’m traveling and I don’t have all my stuff."
Doré continued, “So, I really like products that are very simple and can do many good things. The line was based on the idea that you don’t need a ton of things to do great work because what your skin needs is simple and effective.”
She loves to travel
In keeping with her childhood dream of "discovering the world," Doré’s Instagram is filled with photos of her various travels.
She and McTavish have taken several trips together, including stops in New Zealand, Scotland and France.
In addition, Doré has traveled with her family. She shared pictures from a visit to Morocco with her sister in May 2024.
“Hello from Marrakech where I am with my sister exploring and getting inspired for future projects and, as always, getting blown away by the beauty, the creativity, the warmth and kindness everywhere! ❤️," Doré wrote.
She and McTavish are supportive of each other
McTavish and Doré are each other’s biggest supporters. In February 2020, Doré attended the Los Angeles premiere of Outlander season 5 with McTavish. The actor walked the red carpet in a navy three-piece suit, while Doré sported a black high-neck top and a white midi skirt.
A few years later, after Doré’s skincare brand launched at Ulta Beauty in July 2024, McTavish celebrated his wife’s achievement on Instagram.
“So proud of my wife @garancedore and the launching of her beauty and skincare range at Ulta Beauty in the US,” he wrote in the caption. “It’s Made in France, natural and it works! It’s definitely the only thing that’s ever helped the ravages occurring on my face!!! Well done!!!”
