However the 20-year-old was made to wait for his opportunity after Van Nistelrooy opted to start Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo in the wide positions. Despite that, Garnacho struck a stunning effort to wrap up the victory. But instead of celebrating his effort, the winger gave a muted celebration with some fans even suggesting that he seemed angry after finding the net. One commented: “I’m trying to understand why Garnacho didn’t celebrate his goal.” A second said: “Garnacho not celebrating that because he’s thinking ‘f you’ to all the criticism he’s got recently. He’s angry at us.” A fourth added: “Garnacho did not celebrate because the fans have been slagging him off.” Following the end of the match, Fernandes could be seen having a serious discussion with Garnacho, however it’s not known what they were discussing. But speaking after the match, Fernandes said: “It was a good day at work, I have to say. We have a lot of players with big qualities, but people can get too excited after one game and too down after another. I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do. “I told him to celebrate, it was something special. He is a special player, we have difference makers. They are the ones who win us games. We want them to score every game but that isn’t going to happen.” Garnacho has had a tricky week after being goaded by a supporter outside Old Trafford ahead of their Europa League clash with PAOK midweek. In response, Troy Deeney told talkSPORT host Jim White: “What an idiot. “That’s not a supporter. That’s someone trying to get a little bit of attention. Idiot, that’s all I’d say about that. “We live in a world where people like that, who don’t even get picked for their Sunday league team, want to try and say to a player, ‘Go work on your first touch’. “Come on. Give the kid a break, he’s your top goal scorer. Fans have an opportunity and place to have their say and their criticism, but Marcus Rashford walked past everybody last week and Garnacho is staying to sign autographs and that’s what he gets.  “This is why some of the players walk past, because that’s what they’re going to get. They will just avoid it.”
