Justin Baldoni Discusses Porn Addiction In Resurfaced Interview
The resurfaced video of Baldoni's wedding apology follows an old interview of him that re-emerged following Lively's legal complaint.
In July 2021, Baldoni was a guest on Sarah Grynberg's "A Life of Greatness" podcast and shared candid details about his past addiction to porn. The filmmaker revealed that he was introduced to pornography at 10 before adding that he found solace in it.
He shared that he turned to porn for "refuge" when he was alone, abandoned, or hurt and described it as a source of "dopamine rush."
Baldoni also said, "I trained my brain to deal with pain with the dopamine hit. ... But it doesn't mean that I'm not using something in an unhealthy way."
He revealed how he went back to looking at pictures and videos of naked women in moments when he felt necessarily bad about himself. Baldoni added, "I knew it was an issue for me when I would tell myself that I don't want to do that."
Blake Lively's Sexual Harassment Complaint Against Baldoni
Lively claimed Baldoni engaged in sexual misconduct during filming, causing her to call for a meeting to express her concerns. She claimed that she made several demands at the meeting, which Baldoni and his production company agreed to.
Some of the 37-year-old actress's demands included "No more showing nude videos or images of women to her, no more mention of Baldoni's alleged previous pornography addiction, and no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of her and others."
Lively also claimed that Baldoni and his team spearheaded a smear campaign against her following the meeting. However, she hoped that her lawsuit would help reveal sinister retaliatory tactics aimed at harming people and help protect others who may be targeted.
Baldoni responded to Lively's lawsuit via a statement from his lawyer, Bryan Freedman, who labeled the actress's claims as "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious, with an intent to publicly hurt." Freedman also claimed Lively filed the lawsuit to "fix her negative reputation."
