‘Told Coach K it was an honor to suit up for him’ – LeBron plays for Duke, and performs with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in dream sequence
Dreams can take you any and everywhere. For LeBron James, it has apparently taken him to playing college basketball for one of the greatest coaches of all-time, while performing next to two of the greatest artists of all-time… at the same time. James went straight to X to post about his wild dream, that including him playing college basketballX/@KINGJAMES He’s achieved so much in his life but even he has dreams to have moreX/@KINGJAMES That dreams sounds lot cooler than the ones when you’re on stage or at a party, and all of a sudden you’re in your underwear. We’ve all had those. Except if you’re James. Apparently he has much grander dreams. Dreams that involve Coach K, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. James never had the college experience, so it seems the closest he can get now, is in his dreams. James chose to go straight to the NBA out of high school, skipping out on the chance to play college basketball. Of course that was the correct decision, as he was regarded as the greatest prospect of all time, and was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2003 draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the rest was history. But what if James did decide to go to college? He has strong ties to Ohio State, as an Akron native, but has stated in the past that if he did choose to go the college route, Duke would be near or at the top of the list. Coach K was head coach of Team USA, where he won two gold medals with James in 2008 and 2012 And that’s all credit to Duke’s head coach, Mike Krzyzewski, and the dominant program he had built. It’s a fun ‘what-if’ to think about if James was playing against other 18-22-year-olds, instead of grown men in 2003. What isn’t a hypothetical and was reality, is that Coach K actually was James’ coach at one point. It just wasn’t at Duke. It was on Team USA, where the two of them were able to capture gold together in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. They have both spoken fondly of one another in the past, and by all accounts, have a great relationship. There’s no doubt James would have become the best college basketball player in the one season he attended in Durham under Krzyzewski’s watch and guidance. As for the other half of that dream, that would be quite something. Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at Cameron Indoor Stadium. James is right, the roof would probably pop-off if those two ever performed inside the snug arena. It’s a shame that his alarm clock went off when it did, as there’s no telling who else was set to appear in James’ wild dream.
