The league has tried a bunch of different quirks and formats in an effort to get the players on the court to care more about a largely meaningless exhibition—the latest of which involves a mini tournament of four teams. Even the marquee events surrounding the game like the Slam Dunk Contest don’t draw big names anymore (Mac McClung, going for a historic threepeat in this year’s competition, is a G-League guy). All-Star Weekend remains the biggest sneaker showcase of the year. From on-court colorways to signature silhouette debuts to lifestyle kicks, brands in the sneaker and sportswear space use ASW as a jumping-off point for the year ahead. All-Star 2025, which kicks off in the Bay Area today, is no exception. Some of the biggest drops of the year are landing in the next few days, from the greatest sneaker of all time to some fire on-court colorways. Here’s everything you need to know about the best sneakers dropping during All-Star Weekend 2025.Nike Kobe 6 Protro All-Star 2.0Given that Kobe Bryant was an 18-time All-Star with one of Nike’s best signature lines of all time, it’d be a crime for there not to be at least one killer Mamba drop every February. This year’s edition pays homage to his ASW exploits, with the Kobe 6’s typical scales pattern replaced with an array of diamonds and stars. The kicks were released early, on February 13, with pairs now available through resale platforms.Reebok Engine AWe haven’t seen Reebok in the proper performance space in some time, but the brand is primed to make their grand return this year with the futuristic Engine A, their first basketball shoe in years. You can pick up the debut colorway—a slick metallic silver—right now at Reebok for $120.Air Jordan 1 ’85 ‘Bred’We’re not sure what else there is to say about the greatest sneaker of all time, but we did our best. You can pick these up for $180 on February 15 via SNKRS.Adidas AE1 Low ‘Champagne’There’s still nothing on the modern performance market that can hold a candle to Anthony Edwards’ first signature silhouette. You can cop this one now for $110 via Adidas and Foot Locker.New Balance 1000 x Bricks & Wood ‘A Different Bounce’This isn’t the first time South Central-based Bricks & Wood have collaborated with New Balance, but their All-Star offerings feel like something of a second debut. For ASW 2025, they’re bringing back the KD4 ‘Scoring Title,’ a colorway produced to commemorate the Slim Reaper’s scoring title win from the 2011-2012 season. These are out today at SNKRS for $130.Anta Kai Speed 1 ‘Bag Work’Ever since they signed Kyrie Irving following his Nike split in 2023, China’s Anta has been a brand to watch in the hoops space. It ain’t all about signature sneakers for All-Star Weekend. The Stripes are using the platform to launch one of many upcoming hot Adidas Superstar collaborations, this one with one of their most high-profile athletes in Damian Lillard. Dame Dolla’s take on the Superstar II pastes Oakland green stripes over an off-white upper, finished off with his logo in gold foil on the heel. Limited pairs are available through the Shoe Palace website for $110, while another batch drops in-person at the Bay Area store over All-Star Weekend.

Adidas Crazy 2 ‘All-Star’

We started with Kobe, so let’s close it out that way. While release details remain scarce for this one, Adidas is rumored to be using All-Star Weekend to launch a retro of the Crazy 2, the silhouette that Bryant hated so much he broke from his Adidas contract. It’s a polarizing shoe for sure, but one that holds an important place in sneaker history. You can expect a wider release at a later date, but this one should be making its debut via shock-drop or pop-up of some sort over the course of All-Star Weekend.
