Another one of Taylor Swift's beloved dancers is sharing how the Eras Tour changed his life.
On Dec. 12, Jan Ravnik — who earned an adoring, passionate following of his own while performing with Swift on the road — shared on Instagram that he's still processing the record-smashing tour's completion four days after it wrapped in Canada.
"I still can’t find the words to fully describe what I’m feeling. It’s like there’s this weight in my chest, a mix of gratitude, love and sadness, because saying ‘thank you’ just doesn’t seem enough," the Slovenian performer wrote in a post.
Ravnik added: "I never imagined I’d be performing in front of sold out stadiums across the globe. Night after night, I got to share the stage with the most dedicated, creative, and passionate people. From my fellow dancers who inspired me to be better every day, to the band and bgv [background vocalists], the crew, and everyone behind the scenes who made the magic happen."
After sharing his appreciation for Swift's choreographer Mandy Moore, the dancer went on to thank Swift "for setting a bar so high it made every one of us rise to the challenge" and "for changing my life."
"We’ve created memories, we’ve shared laughs and tears along the way," Ravnik added. "I am not same person I was 2 years ago and I can easily say these were the best years of my life."
In a postscript, Ravnik cheekily revealed which prop he kept from the Eras Tour: the purple ladder upon which he thrusted while Swift sang her Midnights hit "Lavender Haze."
"I’d like to announce that the ladder and I have mutually decided to part ways professionally. However, we remain on good terms," he quipped. "It’s currently in a quiet retirement community (a.k.a. my living room), helping me paint walls and hang shelves. We ask for privacy and understanding during this heartfelt transition."
After launching the Eras Tour in Arizona in March 2023, Swift ended the show in Vancouver on Dec. 8. After that 149th and final concert, Swift’s production company confirmed to the New York Times that 10,168,008 people attended the Eras Tour — and that it sold $2,077,618,725 in total tickets, making it the bestselling tour of all time.
On Dec. 9, PEOPLE confirmed that Swift gave out $197 million in bonuses to everyone working on her tour — including truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team — over the past two years.
Since the tour wrapped, many of Swift's band members, background vocalists and dancers have opened up about its ending, from her longtime bassist Amos Heller saying he's "emerged changed" to dancer Kameron Saunders revealing he has "not stopped crying" since the last show.
