talkSPORT betting tips – Best golf bets and expert advice for The Sony Open in Hawaii

Hideki Matsuyama will be hoping to go back-to-back at the Sony Open after his three-shot success at The Sentry on Sunday, but the mood could be sombre at Waialae Country Club following the death of last year’s winner Grayson Murray. Matsuyama won at the venue in 2022 when he saw off Russell Henley in a playoff, but this week’s test represents a different examination to the one players had to deal with at Kapalua last week. The wide, expansive fairways are replaced by a tight track where accuracy is key, but that will be music to plenty of players in the field. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Get £20 in free bets* Sony Open tips Corey Conners to win @ 14/1 Keegan Bradley to win @ 25/1 Taylor Pendrith to win @ 35/1 Corey Conners to win @ 14/1 Corey Conners can usually be relied upon to find the short grass and the fact the Canadian was the best putter among the 60-player field at The Sentry last week suggests his game is in fine order. He should have been encouraged by his fifth-placed finish and he has been performing well since he failed to make the Tour Championship. Conners followed that disappointment by finishing seventh at September’s Procore Championship and there were no signs of rust when he was sixth at the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa almost three months later. He has posted six top-10 finishes in his last 10 events and while he was an underwhelming 57th in the tournament last year, he was third behind Matt Kuchar at Waialae in 2019 and has three other top-15 finishes at the venue. Keegan Bradley to win @ 25/1 Keegan Bradley may have more on his mind in 2025 as he prepares to lead the Americans in the Ryder Cup, but his game is in good shape and he could go one better than last year when he was runner-up to Murray. Bradley won the BMW Championship in August and showed his game was in fine fettle after the break with fifth at the Hero Challenge and then 15th at Kapalua. Last week’s effort included a second-round 64 and it looks as if he is building a strong foundation for another successful season. Taylor Pendrith to win @ 35/1 Players who perform well between tee-to-green tend to be successful at Waialae and another Canadian, Taylor Pendrith, falls into that bracket. He won the CJ Cup in May and has produced a number of solid performances including 13th last week when he recovered from a disappointing opening round of 71. He tied for 14th in the Tour Championship and has shown great consistency by finishing in the top 25 in 15 of his last 18 tournaments. Pendrith was 10th on his second appearance at Waialae last year and there looks a strong chance he could build on that and become a factor before the big prize is handed out on Sunday night. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Get £20 in free bets* *18+ New customers only. • Corey Conners to win @ 14/1
  • Keegan Bradley to win @ 25/1
  • Taylor Pendrith to win @ 35/1

Corey Conners to win @ 14/1

Corey Conners can usually be relied upon to find the short grass and the fact the Canadian was the best putter among the 60-player field at The Sentry last week suggests his game is in fine order.

Keegan Bradley to win @ 25/1

Keegan Bradley may have more on his mind in 2025 as he prepares to lead the Americans in the Ryder Cup, but his game is in good shape and he could go one better than last year when he was runner-up to Murray.

Bradley won the BMW Championship in August and showed his game was in fine fettle after the break with fifth at the Hero Challenge and then 15th at Kapalua.

Last week’s effort included a second-round 64 and it looks as if he is building a strong foundation for another successful season.

Taylor Pendrith to win @ 35/1

Players who perform well between tee-to-green tend to be successful at Waialae and another Canadian, Taylor Pendrith, falls into that bracket.
