Rihanna’s closet may not have much in common with my own — hers screams designer whereas mine screams deals — but there is one winter-friendly fashion find we can both agree upon: Ugg slippers.

Last week, the mother-of-two was spotted on a Target run in New York City wearing an outfit I can only describe as my ideal winter uniform. During the outing, she styled a pair of Ugg Coquette Slippers with a cute and comfy black sweatsuit and a Louis Vuitton handbag — the definition of fashion meeting function.

While Uggs have been on my radar ever since Ashley Tisdale first broke out a pair on the red carpet in 2004, matching sets only started making their way onto my style radar within the last few years. One of the most notable purveyors of the comfy movement? None other than Martha Stewart, who has been spotted wearing iterations of the trend while doing everything from completing home projects to drinking coffee on the go.
