Britani Bateman is stirring the pot.

During the Jan. 8 episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Britani was caught recording the women arguing during their cast trip to Mexico. As they bickered in the car, Angie Katsanevas saw Britani’s camera filming the seat in front of her before she quickly turned it off.

“Britani, why are you recording the conversation?” Angie asked. “Turn the f---ing phone off. With people arguing in the back.”

Britani denied recording for that purpose, claiming she was trying to send a video of herself to her daughter. The other ladies didn’t buy the excuse, though.

“She needs to go. I’ve had enough,” Meredith Marks declared, still upset after Britani told everyone she heard Meredith crying and throwing up in her room the night prior.

“I’m trying to delete it!” Britani then screamed, saying she has “never” posted or sent videos of the women to anyone.

After last season ended with Monica Garcia admitting to taking part in the Reality Von Tease gossip account that published hidden videos of former cast member Jen Shah, Heather Gay pointed out how violating Britani’s actions felt.

“It's literally the worst invasion of privacy that we can imagine,” Heather said in her confessional. “We are deeply traumatized by friendship betrayals and something like this just brings it all up to the surface.”

Back in the car, Whitney Rose added: “We don’t even do that to each other when we’re hating each other.”

Britani snapped back, saying: “Obviously there’s a trigger here so look back at all my photos.”

“Clearly we can see who has issues here, and it’s not me,” Meredith chimed in as the ladies all yelled over each other.

Things heated up even more when they asked Britani again if she was going to send anyone the videos, and she changed her story: “I was saving them for later.”

When they called her out, Britani maintained, “I don’t know this stuff!”

“I am so disgusted I had you in my home,” Meredith said.

Heather even expressed regret for bringing Britani into the group: “I have been her friend, but now I'm feeling ashamed and embarrassed that I introduced her to all my friends and have put them in this horrible situation. This is indefensible.”

Before they all exited the car, Lisa Barlow exclaimed, “I will never trust you again. I will be worried every time I'm with you, you're recording me, and I bet you have already.”

At lunch, Britani revealed that she had been keeping her physical relationship with on-and-off boyfriend Jared Osmond a secret and it was causing her to act out, although she didn’t admit to purposely recording the conversation in the car.

Heather encouraged the other women to hear Britani out, although she reminded her that there was no excuse for her behavior.

“These are the women that gave me a bridge out of the space you're in,” Heather said. “My neighbors are Mormon. My best friends are Mormon, my grandparents, my extended family, everything I know, my world is Mormon, and in my world, I have no value. I'm a failure. I'm a joke. And these women are the ones that have told me that that's not true. But you have to be honest and you can't record us. We are only vulnerable with each other.”

Later in the episode, Meredith asked Heather to help search her room, wondering if there were hidden recording devices inside.

“If she could have heard my coughing, she would have heard my whole conversation with my husband. I’m feeling unsettled,” Meredith said, claiming what Britani heard was just coughing sounds. “I wouldn't have thought of it other than today, she’s recording us on the bus. Did she leave something in my room?”

After looking around, the two didn’t find anything suspicious, but Meredith decided to bring it up to Britani at dinner that night.

“I think it's a reasonable and rational question when I have heard zero anywhere else,” Meredith said. “So? Answer the question. Did you put a recording device in my room?”

“That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life,” Britani replied to an unenthused Meredith. “Absolutely no.”
