The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Mia Thornton is weighing in on Karen Huger’s guilty DUI verdict.

“Oh, my gosh. Listen, I always knew she was guilty,” Thornton, 40, said during the Sunday, January 26, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “Sorry, I did.”

Thornton noted that she’s “sad” that “it has rolled out the way that it has.” Host Andy Cohen, for his part, agreed with Thornton, adding, “Yes.”

“It’s very, very sad,” Thornton continued. “I really feel like if she would have just owned up to what she did, then we would not know.”

Karen Huger Told Police She Was 'Thomas Jefferson's Concubine' After Crash

In December 2024, Huger, 61, was convicted of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision and failure to notify authorities of an address change, per a report from Fox 5 DC. She was acquitted of one charge of reckless driving.

“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” Huger’s attorney A. Scott Bolden told People in a statement at the time. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Huger is set to be sentenced on Wednesday, January 29, and faces up to two years in prison.

RHOP’s Karen Huger Enters Recovery Program, Skips Reunion Taping

One month after the verdict, news broke on January 9 that Huger would be missing from the RHOP season 9 reunion to focus on her health.

“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today,” Huger’s manager, Ryan Tresdale, said in a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish at the time. “She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”

Thornton, who Cohen pointed out had been “advocating” for Huger to go to rehab, said on Sunday that she’s “very happy” that her costar is now there. “I want her to get the help that she needs,” Thornton said.

Thornton claimed that she “would love” for Huger to come back to the Bravo series, noting that she “wouldn’t give her a hard time.” She added, “I actually wanted her to be transparent and tell us what she was going through so that we could be there for her.”
