Prince Harry is on the campaign trail!

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Duke of Sussex, 40, appeared in a video to encourage people to send in nominations for the 2025 WellChild Awards.

The annual event celebrates the courage and achievements of seriously ill children across the U.K. and involves one of the few patronages Harry has kept since he stepped back from his royal role alongside Meghan Markle in 2020.

It is also a deeply emotional event during which Harry regularly spends time connecting with children, families and caregivers.

“Each year, the WellChild Awards, in association with GSK, recognize and celebrate the growing number of young people with complex medical conditions from across the United Kingdom as well as those who go the extra mile to care for them,” Harry said in the clip, which was posted in association with Hello magazine

“They allow us to shine a spotlight on the remarkable stories of strength, resilience and courage that they demonstrate every single day,” added Harry, who has been a patron of WellChild since 2007.

“This year is especially significant as we celebrate the 20th WellChild Awards,” he continued. “It is a true privilege to honor the bravery and compassion of this incredible community.”

The prince went on to say that in order for the awards to take place “we need your help to nominate the exceptional people who inspire you every single day.”

“WellChild Patron Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, urges the public to submit nominations for the 2025 #WellChildAwards, in association with @GSK,” Hello added in the caption.

The post continued, “This year marks the 20th WellChild Awards, two decades of celebrating the UK’s inspirational children and young people who are living with complex medical needs, as well as those who care for them. Nominate via our link in bio ❤️.”

Last year, Harry received a gift from an award recipient at the 2024 WellChild Awards.

The ceremony, which took place in London on Sept. 30, saw 10-year-old Scarlett gift the prince with crystal hearts for him, his Meghan, 43, and their children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

Her mother Aby told PEOPLE at the time, “ If he [Harry] feels down he can give a crystal heart to each of his family members to squeeze and make them feel a lot happier.”

Scarlett, who had been awarded in the 7 to 11 age group, had undergone two major brain surgeries due to facing medical challenges that affected her mobility and caused severe pain.

Despite spending many months in the hospital, Scarlett  “saves her own bravery stickers for other children in hospital, reads to them and, along with her sister Sienna, saves up her pocket money to buy new toys for hospital wards,” according to a WellChild release at the time.

Speaking about how fatherhood helped him to connect more with the charity in 2021, Harry stated, “Now as a father of two, I feel all the more connected, inspired and in awe of the resilience of these families, who power through indescribable challenges with the support of WellChild."
