Pete Davidson has nothing but love for ex-fiancée Ariana Grande as she continues to succeed on the big screen.

“When we see each other, which is few and far between because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” Davidson, 31, told Page Six in an interview published Friday, February 14. “I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.”

In addition to her successful music career, Grande, 31, has recently received rave reviews for her portrayal of Glinda in Wicked. The performance earned her a 2025 Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

“I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women,” Davidson added, “and when it’s ended, it’s been cool.”

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson: The Way They Were

In October 2018, Davidson and Grande called off their wedding four months after getting engaged. The Saturday Night Live star’s proposal happened after only a few weeks of dating.

No matter what roles Davidson secured over the years or how good his sketches were on SNL, the comedian said the noise surrounding his personal life often took center stage.

In his latest interview, Davidson called all the attention “humiliating and upsetting.”

“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” he said. “Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoghan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for, like, five years and it made my life a living hell. It’s embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating.”

Over the years, Davidson has been linked to stars like Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, Phoebe Dynevor and Margaret Qualley.

His most recent romance with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline ended last summer.

Instead of dating, Davidson is focused on his professional life and staying healthy after being open about his struggles with sobriety. He was also previously diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and PTSD.

He continues working out with trainer Chris Howard and recently showed off his progress while modeling underwear for Reformation. Davidson is also set to appear on SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration airing on NBC Sunday, February 16.

“Now, over the last six months, I’m not dating,” he said. “I’m starting to turn my life around. I’ve had six months of good living and working hard, and I realize that if you want to be treated the way you want to be treated, you have to do the work.”
