Speaking to fellow Spurs supporter Majestic on The Final Word after the match, caller James argued that the club should have appointed former boss Mauricio Pochettino in Postecoglou’s place in 2023. He said: “You look at that Chelsea team, and who is the best manager in Europe to bring forward young players, who made that team to what it is now, for that guy [Enzo Maresca] to come in and reap the success? Pochettino. “And the irony again, and that’s why you’ve got to blame [Daniel] Levy and not Ange. Ange is out of his depth and he should never have been appointed. “But if Levy’s concept is to buy young players and spend a lot of money on them for the future, the best manager for that concept is Pochettino. “He was there waiting. He was begging for that job, wasn’t he?” The Spurs fan then urged chairman Daniel Levy to table a huge offer for the Argentine, who was announced as head coach of the US men’s national team in September. James continued: “I think that Mr. Levy should break the bank. I think that he’s got a lot of unfinished business himself.” With Spurs fans clearly losing patience with their current head coach, Majestic went as far as to call for Harry Redknapp to return to the club, despite the 77-year-old not having managed since 2017. He said: “This is the situation that we’re in right now. I’m even at the point of, can I get Harry Redknapp till the end of the season?” This came after the talkSPORT host admitted earlier in the show that the Chelsea defeat was the final nail in the coffin for him, as he slammed Postecoglou’s handling of the match.
