Oleksandr Usyk reveals he wears $100 fake Rolex watch despite making tens of millions in wins over Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua
Oleksandr Usyk has made tens of millions in his boxing career to date, but still wears a $100 fake watch. The famously humble heavyweight world champion revealed this in a funny video recently which saw him stopped for a ‘fit check’. Usyk laughed as he showed off his fake Rolex This genre of video has picked up traction on short-form platforms such as TikTok in recent years. The format sees a random stranger or celebrity stopped in the street and asked to give the full details and prices of the outfit they’re currently wearing. While it’s normally a contest to see who is wearing the most expensive attire, Usyk offered a fresh perspective in his video. The multi-millionaire explained that the Rolex watch he was wearing was in fact fake. He went on to explain that, as he is known to be rich, he expected nobody would ever guess his watch only cost $100. “It is a Chinese rolex,” he said chuckling. “I was in Turkey for training and saw guys selling Rolexes on the beach. “I thought that if I bought one, no-one would guess it was a fake. So I bought it for $100.” Usyk then showed his watch to the camera. He could not stop himself from laughing as he did so. Experts will be able to tell the difference, though few people would typically doubt the authenticity of the champion’s watch Usyk first began to earn serious money when he entered the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament in 2017. That ambitious competition recruited all of the world champions in the division at the time and matched them in a three-round, eight-boxer tournament. Usyk emerged victorious in 2018 as the undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO cruiserweight world champion. As such, he also took home the maximum prize money, though exact figures were never made public. Usyk then travelled to the UK to face Tony Bellew in a PPV showdown before moving up to heavyweight. It has been in boxing’s glamour division that the Ukrainian has earned millions upon millions.
