Morgan Wallen is finally getting his bar sign.

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Nashville Metro Council voted to approve the country star's request for a sign to be hung above his Broadway bar — This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen — nearly seven months after the Metro Council denied the permit application, WSMV reports.

According to the publication, in a meeting on May 21, 30 Metro Nashville council members voted against development company 4th Avenue Property LLC's application to construct an "aerial encroachment" at This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen, which is located at 107 4th Ave North.

At the time, Councilwoman at Large Delishia Porterfield noted Wallen's past behavior while explaining her decision, including his then-felony charges for throwing a chair off a sixth-floor bar rooftop and the video of him using a racial in a video unearthed in 2021.

“We want to make sure that Nashville was a supportive place for everyone, so I don’t want to see a billboard with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs, using the N-word, so I’m voting no," she said.

News of the sign's approval comes days after Wallen appeared in court to accept a plea deal and was sentenced in the April chair-throwing incident.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, a judge in Nashville sentenced Wallen to one week of incarceration, to be served at a DUI education center, as well as two years' probation — one year for each of his misdemeanor charges for reckless endangerment. Additionally, the "Wasted on You" star must also pay a $350 fine and court fees.

"Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation," his attorney Worrick Robinson IV told PEOPLE in a statement.

Wallen pleaded conditionally guilty due to judicial diversion. Should he successfully complete the terms of his probation, he will have his charges eligible for dismissal and expungement.
