Marvel Fans Split Over Rumors Of Jonathan Majors’ Possible Return As Kang
Rumors of Jonathan Majors returning as Kang in the MCU have divided Marvel fans. While some support his comeback, others question it.
Jonathan Majors might return to the Marvel Universe as Kang two years after he was dropped by the company.
The actor was fired from the role after he was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges in 2023.
Meanwhile, despite heightened enthusiasm from most fans about the news, others believe returning as Kang might not be the right move for the actor.
Marvel CEO Teases Jonathan Majors' Possible Return As Kang
After what seemed like the end of his superhero career, Majors might be getting a second chance at playing "Kang the Conqueror" by Marvel.
According to Screengeek, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige is considering bringing Majors back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Feige wants the actor to return and appear in future Marvel movies as Kang. Majors will be expected to help close some loops and end Kang's story arc within the MCU.
Up until December 18, 2023, Majors was being set up to become the next big villain in the Marvel Universe. The actor had embodied Kang in several lead-up movies, including the 2021 Disney+ series "Loki," "Loki" season 2, and the 2023 movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
However, an altercation with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023 led to a trial where Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges. Marvel subsequently dropped the actor.
Marvel Fans Believe Jonathan Majors' 'Kang' Deserves A Return
The news of Majors' potential return to the MCU has been wholesomely received by fans who believe the actor deserves his role back and possibly an even bigger paycheck.
"I had a feeling this would happen after a reasonable cooling-off period. Charge them triple what your original fee was, King," one X user commented.
Another fan opined, "I called this. The man became a villain in real-time. Art imitates life. His villain arc is going to terrify people. Put the brother back on so he can earn some bread."
Former UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya also backed the actor, quoting a tweet teasing his return with, "Yes, all he did was protect himself. He should, and he should also play @francis_ngannou in his biopic!"
Some Fans Want Majors As Black Panther, Not Kang
I'll leave this here.. I mean they are looking to recast the Black Panther role.
