Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest predictions Ruben Amorim tasted defeat for the first time since he arrived at Old Trafford when his team went down 2-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates. As disappointing as the loss would have been for Amorim, he is likely to have learnt more about the shortcomings in his squad against one of the top teams in England, than he did in his previous handful of matches in charge. Against Nottingham Forest, Amorim will be expecting a reaction. And with rumours rife about who he wants to keep and who he doesn’t, it’s likely the United players will be highly motivated when the East Midlands outfit make the journey up the M6 on Saturday. United sit 13th in the Premier League with 19 points from 14 matches. They are seven points off the top four and four adrift of the top five. The area of the table they are in is very congested, and a good run of results will see them on the cusp of the European places. Forest are three points ahead of Manchester United, sitting in seventh. A promising start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo has somewhat derailed in recent weeks, with the Reds winning only one of their last four. The finger of blame for their poor run can – in part – be pointed at the Premier League fixture computer. Two of their three defeats have come away at Arsenal (3-0) and Manchester City (3-0), the other at home to Newcastle United (3-1). Forest did manage a 1-0 home win over Ipswich Town in between the defeats to Arsenal and Manchester City. But after their defeat at the Etihad on Wednesday, the last thing Forest need is another trip to Manchester on the following Saturday to face a United side that is keen to impress. Onto the team news, and it’s proving very hard to second guess what starting eleven Ruben Amorim will put out. He started off with Marcus Rashford up front against Ipswich. The England striker rewarded him with a goal after just two minutes. In the following Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt, Rasmus Hojlund got the nod and repaid his boss with two goals. Plenty, including me in my tips last week, thought that would mean a start for the Dane against Everton on the following Sunday. Amorim instead opted for Joshua Zirkzee, with the Dutchman rewarding him with two goals. Finally, against Arsenal, Amorim opted for Hojlund to lead the line. It’s anyone’s guess who will start in the lone striker’s role on Saturday. What we do know is Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Leny Yoro were all on the bench against Arsenal. They are likely to be recalled on Saturday. Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are available after serving suspensions. But Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof are likely to miss out through injury. Forest are still without long term absentees Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo. Sangore has been missing Matchday 3, and Danilo since Matchday 1. Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest betting tips. 18+ GambleAware.org – Please play responsibly. A Man Utd win and over 2.5 goals is 7/5. But as Forest are stronger than all the above listed, apart from Chelsea, we will just go for a United win and over 1.5 goals.
Back Man Utd to win and two goals or more in the match at 10/11 with Paddy Power
Amad Diallo to assist
Amad Diallo has five Premier League assists and one goal this season.
Four of his assists have been since Erik ten Hag departed, with three of them coming since Ruben Amorim took over at the club and deployed him as a wing-back.
Quite clearly, Diallo is having a new lease of life under his new boss.
As well as his assists, Diallo also registered two shots in the matches against Everton and Ipswich. He is clearly reveling in his new role.
Back Amad Diallo to assist at 11/4 with Paddy Power
Diogo Dalot 2+ shots
One of the first things Ruben Amorim did when he took over at Manchester United was switch the system to 3-4-3.
Immediately, this must have been music to the ears of Portuguese wing-back Diogo Dalot.
Dalot has come under fire during his time at United for his lack of defensive awareness. Some fair, some unjust. But the truth is, Dalot is not an old school full-back, he is an attack-minded player far better suited to the 3-4-3 system.
Like Amad Diallo on the other side of the pitch, Dalot has looked far more comfortable in his more attacking role. He registered 2 shots against Arsenal, none against Everton, and one against Ipswich.
That might not sound like an astronomical amount, but on the other flank, Diallo registered two against Everton and Ipswich.
The point is both the wide defensive players have licence to get forward in this new system. They are both only going to start registering more goals and assists.
Diallo seems to have settled quicker. But Dalot’s two efforts on goal against Arsenal suggest he is becoming more comfortable in his new role. He is 17/10 to do the same against Nottingham Forest.
Back Diogo Dalot to have 2+ shots at 17/10 with Paddy Power
