Singer Liam Payne's relationship with Kate Cassidy was reportedly put to the test over his alleged drug use.
Liam Payne's relationship with Kate Cassidy was reportedly put to the test over his alleged drug use.
Sources say Cassidy gave the singer a "tough love" ultimatum to fix up or lose her, but he chose the drugs, leaving her with no option but to "remove herself from the situation."
Liam Payne and Kate Cassidy traveled to Argentina in early October and planned to spend only four days, but ended up spending two weeks before she finally left him in the South American country.
Kate Cassidy Gave Liam Payne 'Tough Love' Over His Drug Use
Payne's girlfriend was reportedly not comfortable with his drug use and did all she could to make him stop, including putting their relationship on the line.
According to the New York Post, a friend of Cassidy's has come out to share details of the couple's last days together, saying she gave the former One Direction heartthrob an "ultimatum" to overcome his struggles with substance abuse or risk losing their relationship altogether.
"His drug use was causing a lot of drama," the source explained. "So she gave him an ultimatum: her or the drugs. He chose the drugs, so she had no choice but to remove herself from the situation."
They continued, "She thought she was doing tough love. She didn't know that it would end the way it did."
Kate Cassidy's Stay In Argentina Felt Like A 'Hostage Situation'
As is known, the "Strip That Down" singer met his untimely death on October 16 after falling from the balcony of a multistory hotel he was staying in Buenos Aires.
He and Cassidy had traveled to the Argentinian capital to support his former bandmate Niall Horan, who had a show there on October 2 and was supposed to stay for four days.
However, the couple stayed for about two weeks before the 25-year-old influencer finally decided to go back home two days before he died.
According to NYP, sources close to Cassidy said her stay in Argentina was more of a "hostage situation" as Payne kept extending their vacation.
"She had to go," the insider shared. "It was becoming very unhealthy for everyone. She hoped he would follow her back to Miami."
Liam Payne's Alleged Dealer Denied Supplying Him With Drugs
Autopsy reports have since shown that Payne had a toxic mixture of drugs in his system at the time of his death, including crack and so-called "pink cocaine," which is a mixture of ketamine and other drugs.
Law enforcement has roped three persons in their investigations, including a "friend" of the "Both Ways" singer, a hotel housekeeper staff, and an alleged drug dealer identified as Brian Nahuel Paiz, who delivered drugs to him twice on October 14.
Although he admitted to meeting Payne on more than one occasion, 24-year-old Paiz denied selling drugs to him during a recent interview with a local TV station.
"I never supplied Liam with drugs. Liam's first contact with me was at my place of work. We swapped details and saw each other later that night. It was all normal," he said.
"I've heard people saying he was taking drugs, but the truth is that when he got to the restaurant where I was working, he was already under the effects of drugs, and he didn't actually eat anything."
Kate Cassidy Reportedly Feels The Dealer Is Lying
After Paiz's story made headlines, a source revealed that Cassidy wasn't buying it.
The source noted that the influencer feels Paiz is lying and that he cannot be trusted.
"She says that he'd say anything to get out of this," Cassidy's pal said.
They added, "It's lie after lie after lie. [Cassidy] doesn't think they had an intimate night together and she says that the entire interview was completely self-serving. She is looking forward to seeing what happens when he is prosecuted."
Liam Payne And Kate Cassidy Considered Marriage
It comes after Cassidy disclosed that she and Payne were considering tying the knot next year when she wrote an emotional tribute to him following his death.
At the time, she took to her Instagram account to share several snapshots of her and Payne along with a message saying he'd given her a note just weeks earlier where he shared his intentions of marrying her.
She wrote, "I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, "me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444."
Cassidy added, "Liam, I know we'll be together forever, but not in the way we planned. You'll always be with me. I've gained a guardian angel."
She went on to profess her love for the late singer, saying she would carry their "dreams and memories" with her everywhere she goes.
