Katy Perry Caught In Electrical Mishap As Fan Catches Fire Outside ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Katy Perry had a very close call Wednesday night when an autograph session outside "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" turned into a shocking scene as a fan accidentally touched a transformer, causing sparks to explode dangerously close to the pop star.

The singer had been at "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to promote her upcoming "The Lifetimes" Tour, which kicks off April 23 in Mexico City.

Katy Perry is also set to perform at L.A. FireAid, a relief concert benefiting victims of the recent California wildfires.

Sparks Fly Near Katy Perry’s Face

Perry was outside the Hollywood studio after her appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when she stopped to greet fans and sign autographs along a barricade. As she moved down the line, a sudden burst of sparks erupted just feet from her, forcing her to quickly duck to avoid getting hit.

The cause? A fan accidentally made contact with a transformer, triggering a surge of electricity that sent sparks flying, igniting the fan’s coat on fire in the process.
