Jonathan Van Ness is nearing five years of marriage with Mark Peacock!
The Queer Eye star, 37, reflected on his almost half-decade of marriage and predicted what their next anniversary’s date activities might be while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the WWD Style Awards on Jan. 3.
“Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it's already been five years,” Van Ness says, referring to the June 2020 wedding to Peacock, who shares five cats and three dogs with Van Ness. “But I always joke with him, I'm like, every night is like a sleepover. Every night we get to have a sleepover.”
The pair, who were most recently photographed together at Netflix’s Golden Globes Afterparty on Jan. 5, have a few trendy activities they might do on their fifth anniversary on June 5 — which might include playing multiplayer game Fortnite for a “scarily” amount of hours again.
“Cook together. Go to pickle ball. He’ll do his pottery and I’ll play with needlepointing or painting, usually just with him in our little art space that we have in our garage. We like to get a little crafty,” Van Ness reveals. “Also, this is a little known dating fact. It’s kind of random: We’re obsessed with Fortnite. We played a lot of Fortnite scarily the other day.”
“We got home at noon, and the next thing I knew it was 8. We accidentally played Fortnite for 8 hours. It was a Sunday, but I was shook. It’s a really fun game,” says Van Ness — who is nonbinary and uses he/him, she/her and they/them pronouns — emphasizing this is quality time together.

Fans first learned of Van Ness and Peacock’s nuptials in a December 2020 Instagram post, in which the reality star recapped a busy year: “2020 was a year unlike any other. I got to campaign & get more involved politically. I finished my [standup comedy] tour in Australia & NZ ... I got married to my best friend & have a loving partner to continue building my life with,” Van Ness wrote, in part, in the lengthy caption.
In January 2021, the grooming guru shared details about their meet-cute.
“We went on a date in London, which turned into more dates whilst I was on comedy tour,” Van Ness captioned an Instagram post at the time. “At the end of that time I was taking my mom, aunt & friends on a mini break to Amsterdam. I wanted @marklondon to come with but, was it a bit intense to ask Mark to come after a couple [weeks’ worth] of dates to come meet my mom & and friends on a mini break? Maybe so, but something about Mark felt different and I’m quite sure he felt the same
