Jimmy Butler’s two-word reaction as Miami Heat take $2.5 million from star after indefinite suspension
Miami Heat have made their Jimmy Butler decison. And the trade-seeking superstar is unlikely to be happy as he awaits a move away from Florida before the trade deadline. Jimmy Butler has used social media to communicate his feelings on his suspension The organisation announced the decision to suspend Butler on Monday, saying Butler’s “continued pattern of disregard of team rules,” is the reason behind it. The 35-year-old had already been suspended by his team – who are sixth in the Eastern Conference – twice this season for disciplinary issues, which have ruled out him for nine matches. This latest action comes after he walked out of team practise on Friday and he will not be paid according to the organisation. “The Miami Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler without pay effective immediately for an indefinite period to last no fewer than five games,” a statement read. “The suspension is due to a continued pattern of disregard of team rules, engaging in conduct detrimental to the team and intentionally withholding services. This includes walking out of practice earlier today.” Butler faces losing $532,737 per game under this latest suspension, per ESPN. And it did not take long for the six-time All-Star to react to news of his punishment, taking to Instagram to post a clip from American TV show Martin, where the character jokes about being jobless. Teammate Tyler Herro acknowledged the ongoing uncertainty to reporters before their 125-119 win against the Orlando Magic. “It kind of feels normal now at this point. Nothing is guaranteed, so we just have to roll with whatever cards we’re dealt,” Herro said. Butler was first suspended at the star of January with the Heat citing “multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season.” View Tweet: https://twitter.com/BradyHawk305?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Jimmy Butler led the Miami Heat to the 2023 NBA Finals It was soon after that suspension, Miami announced they would listen to trade offers for him.
