Jeremy Renner's Recovery Home From Snowplow Accident Finds Another Celebrity Owner
Jeremy Renner's sprawling property, packed with a recording studio, was reportedly purchased by singer Lizzo at the end of last month.
Jeremy Renner finally offloads his beloved recovery home in Los Angeles for $12.4 million bucks.
The celebrity sprawling property, packed with a recording studio, was reportedly purchased by singer Lizzo at the end of last month.
Jeremy Renner's mansion was initially listed for $13 million in August and served as his safe haven after he suffered a crushing accident in 2023 that left him with broken bones and punctured liver.
Jeremy Renner's Purchased The Property For $4 Million In 2012
The actor reportedly made a mouthwatering profit on the sale after he purchased it for $4 million over 10 years ago and even spent another $5.5 million on renovations.
The Los Angeles mansion contains 6-bedroom and 9-bathrooms and sits 8,000-square-foot. It is a mid-century Zen retreat that boasts a gourmet kitchen, a luxurious primary suite with canyon views, Fleetwood doors for seamless indoor/outdoor living, and a resort-style pool with waterfalls.
Renner made significant memories at the Laurel Canyon Oasis home, where he recuperated from a near-fatal snowplow accident in Reno, Nevada, and also raised his daughter Ava, per TMZ.
Lizzo's New Home's Exquisite Architecture Captivated The Actor
Renner had plans to spend a long time in the property as The Blast gathered from a previous interview, which was why he splurged millions in renovation.
Beyond that, the mansion's structure made it a love at first sight for him. Renner explained that he was drawn to the bungalow for its unique architectural charm and was captivated by the area's tight-knit feel, noting that many residents had lived there since childhood.
"You typically don't get a lot of neighborly love in Los Angeles," he said, according to the WSJ, before adding, "This was a wonderful little micro-community." The renovation came with him expanding the home to more than double its initial size while preserving its original Midcentury flavor.
As a musician and songwriter, he also built a custom music studio for the property, which Lizzo will now get to enjoy. Renner installed solar panels that now provide around 90% of the house's energy needs.
On why they had to be done, Renner explained: "I did all that stuff because I was going to stay there," he said. "It was kind of a forever home."
The Marvel Actor Decided To Let The Home Go As Part Of A Greater Transition
Despite the home affording him the golden opportunity to spend more time with his adorable daughter after school due to the proximity to his house, Renner noted that it was high time the home became someone else's. "I need to kind of move on to other things," he revealed.
After wrapping up the latest season of "Mayor of Kingstown," Renner is locked in on new projects, including working on a book about his harrowing near-death experience and recovery.
On the cause of his accident, official reports shared that the parking brake was poorly engaged "and would have stopped the snowcat vehicle, which runs on a track, as it started sliding sideways after the 52-year-old 'Avengers' star used it to pull his nephew's truck out of snow."
The Pistenbully snow groomer reportedly began sliding and caused Renner to "exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake." While it was established that the Pistenbully had some preexisting mechanical issues, it is believed that the parking brake would have stopped it from moving forward.
Renner Described His Fatal Accident As A Gift With Many Lessons
Renner chose to see the positive side to his scary experience when he appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." He confessed that he was "pretty banged up" from the near-fatal accident, which left him with 38 broken bones and a leg composed mainly of metal.
"It was brutal, dude," Renner recalled, but despite the pain he endured and the injuries he suffered from, he described the accident as an experience with "wonderful lessons."
"I mean, I can go on and on about what happened for the 45 minutes of being on the ice," the actor began, "but the real learning lessons from it -- there are so many great gifts of being tested to your limits, right? Your physical limits, your spiritual limits, emotional limits." Renner told the host, Fallon:
"I won't have a bad day for the rest of my life. It's impossible. There's that gift."
Jeremy Renner Claimed His Accident Changed His Perspective On Death And Purposeful Living
The doting dad, as reported by The Blast, confessed in another interview that his accident encouraged him to begin living life without the fear of dying.
"Because I was never afraid, mind you, of death prior. Now, I'm really not afraid of it. Now, I'm double downing. Yes, certainly not afraid of it. Now, I'm kind of excited for it "he declared.
The 53-year-old explained that since his close shave with death, he realized that many of the emotions and problems in the world are unnecessary. He shared his new philosophy about life with a very witty speech, saying:
"To be honest, it's what life really is. This rock that we're spinning on and this body and this language that we're speaking and all these feelings and emotions and conflict is all horse s—. It's meaningless in the scheme of things. Just saying…"
Hopefully, Lizzo loves the home as much as Jeremy Renner did!
