Jay-Z's Alleged Son Shares Why He Believes The Rapper Is 'Scared' To Take A Paternity Test
Jay-Z's alleged son, Rymir Satterthwaite, has revealed why he believes the rapper has avoided taking a paternity test.
Jay-Z's alleged son, Rymir Satterthwaite, has revealed why he believes the rapper has avoided taking a paternity test to resolve their long-running dispute over his parentage.
The 31-year-old first approached the court about the issue in 2010 and has since filed multiple claims against the Roc Nation founder, including a recent filing in which he accused the court system of fraud and rights violations in the paternity case.
Now, Rymir Satterthwaite has shared in a new interview that he believes the rapper has refused to take a paternity test all this time because his mother was only 16 when they allegedly had a relationship.
Jay-Z's Alleged 'Illegitimate Son' Says The Rapper Is 'Scared' His Mother Was 'Underage'
Speaking with the US Sun, Satterthwaite, alongside his godmother Dr. Lillie Coley, revealed that before filing their lawsuits against Jay-Z, they initially tried to resolve the paternity issue by requesting a paternity test "privately."
However, the rapper reportedly turned down the request at the time, which led to them seeking the court's help to compel him.
The duo have now offered a reason for Jay-Z's refusal, saying he was "scared" that confirming the paternity would reveal that Satterthwaite's mother was "underage" at the time of their alleged relationship.
"I have to say here - he's not doing this [the paternity test] because of Rymir's mother's age ... because he [Jay-Z] got two problems: one, she was [16], and then she got pregnant," Coley told the publication.
Adding to Coley's remarks, Rymir stated that he believes Jay-Z had "some type of thought in his mind" that there might be "some type of truth" to the paternity claim.
He believes this made the rapper "brush it to the side" despite having the opportunity to "take care of" the issue.
Jay-Z's 'Illegitimate' Son's Godmother Claims the Rapper's Rape Case Could Impact Their Own Legal Battle
During the interview, Coley discussed Jay-Z's ongoing rape lawsuit, in which the rapper is named as one of the alleged perpetrators accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
She claimed that the accusations could mark a "day of reckoning" for Jay-Z's career and the music industry as a whole.
"And this is why you have to be careful how you treat people and what you do because I believe you will reap what you sow," Coley told the outlet.
Coley also shared her belief that the latest accusations could "spill over" into their case because it "shows the broader narrative, the broader scope of what's going on, and that this goes deep and wide."
The Alleged Son Expressed Frustration Over Lengthy Paternity Battle With The Rapper
Elsewhere in the conversation, Satterthwaite voiced his frustration over how the paternity claim has dragged on all these years.
"You guys have gone and dragged this out. For years and years, you haven't been giving us fair due process," the 31-year-old complained. "What was the reason? Can you guys explain? You guys caused us harm; you caused us this stress?"
Satterthwaite went on to say that he is not interested in Jay-Z's money or fame. He also expressed willingness to form a relationship with Jay-Z if a paternity test proves their connection.
"If it was right, you know...We can grow and have a relationship if you want that. But if you didn't, you know I'm still gonna be the man I am," he said.
Satterthwaite added, "I'm really not trying to chase you, to get no fame off you or no money. I don't want anything from you. I always said this."
Rymir Satterthwaite Accused The Court System Of Fraud And Rights Violation In Paternity Battle
The remarks from Satterthwaite and his godmother come after they filed a suit against several individuals within the court system.
In the suit, the duo accused the named persons of obstructing their efforts to compel Jay-Z to confirm his paternity, misrepresenting his property ownership, and allegedly allowing the Roc Nation founder to make false claims.
Elsewhere in the filing, they requested a "declaratory judgment" to establish that their constitutional rights were violated. They also sought to unseal previously sealed court records relevant to the case for public review.
According to the Daily Mail, they urged the court to grant damages for "negligent infliction of emotional distress," claiming they suffered "significant personal harm" due to the prolonged legal battle.
Rymir Satterthwaite Also Called Out Jay-Z For His Response To A Rape Allegation Against Him
In a statement to the Daily Mail, Satterthwaite slammed his alleged father's reaction to the rape allegations he is facing.
Satterthwaite said it is "both heartbreaking and frustrating" to see Jay-Z address the allegations with "deflection and attacks."
He then intertwined the situation with his long-running effort to get the Roc Nation boss to agree to a paternity test.
Satterhwaite added, "My late mother, Wanda, was just 16 years old when she became pregnant with me, and for years I have sought clarity about my identity. This is not about greed or spectacle—it's about uncovering the truth and ensuring all parties are held accountable."
