Foxx's 16-year-old daughter, Anelise, was 14 at the time of her father's stroke and snuck into his hospital room to play her guitar for him. The "Annie" actor said in his comedy special that his daughter's music improved his vital signs.

"My vitals are so bad, they're going to lose me," said Foxx.

"When she was playing, my vitals… went down… it was God in that guitar," he added. "Spiritual defibrillator."
