Jake Paul blasts Eddie Hearn with three-word insult after his bizarre request to be in Katie Taylor’s corner for Amanda Serrano rematch
Jake Paul has taken aim at Eddie Hearn for requesting to be in Katie Taylor’s corner on Friday night. Taylor is set to rematch Amanda Serrano as the co-main event to Paul’s clash with Mike Tyson. Hearn and Paul worked together to promote the first fightGetty Images - Getty When they staged the first bout together in 2022, Hearn and Paul worked seamlessly and built a good relationship. This time around two years later though, there is no communication between the pair whatsoever. Following Taylor’s close victory over Serrano and Anthony Joshua‘s rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk a few months later, Paul accused Hearn of paying judge Glenn Feldman to give his boxers favourable scorecards. Feldman scored Taylor as the winner against Serrano and AJ as the winner against Usyk, despite being overruled by the other two judges in the latter contest. Hearn launched a defamation lawsuit in response and this is still ongoing. Paul’s company made an offer to Hearn to make the Taylor vs Serrano rematch on their own promotion without his involvement. Because of the fact Netflix are bankrolling the event with big money, the promoter pushed for Taylor to be able accept the lucrative deal despite the fact he would be ostracised. Earlier this week, Hearn said he did not expect to be granted good access to the fight week. Indeed, he has not been in attendance at any of the media events in the build-up. At Wednesday’s press conference though, his name did come up as it was claimed he’s requested to be in Taylor’s corner in order to guarantee his attendance at the event. Press conference host Ariel Helwani brought up the topic after a question was asked to Taylor. Helwani said: “If I could ask Katie a follow-up – Jake said in an interview earlier this week that your long-time promoter and friend Eddie Hearn will actually be in your corner. Is that accurate?” Taylor replied: “I’m not too sure.” Helwani then asked Paul: “I believe Jake said that right? Jake did you say that.” Paul answered: “That’s what they submitted through the promotion. It doesn’t surprise me because he’s a clout-chasing b***h.” https://twitter.com/MostVpromotions/status/1856890002506223674 Also at the presser, Tony Bellew gatecrashed. In an apparent publicity stunt for a betting company, Bellew spoke up with his own microphone, flanked by a ‘107-year-old’ man called Norman. As a result of using his own sound device, not much of what he said could be picked up on the live stream. “Jake Paul, the biggest clown, I’ve got your next opponent here Jake,” were the only words that got through.
