Hero World Challenge 2024 Golf betting preview While the official PGA Tour season ended last month, December offers a final chance to see some of the game’s elite perform on the other side of the Atlantic. Albany Golf Course in The Bahamas is the venue for this annual tournament which is hosted by Tiger Woods. It’s often been a chance to get a glimpse of Tiger in action but he won’t be part of the 20-man field this week having had more back surgery in September.  But we do get the man who now wins at a Tiger-esque rate – Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler is the hot favourite at 12/5 and if that seems a little short, a reminder that he’s won seven of his last 15 events and, in three starts here, has finished second, second and first! His win here last year was by three strokes, Scheffler shooting 20-under. Something similar may be required again on the Ernie Els-designed par 72 which, rather quirkily, features five par 3s and five par 5s. Albany is a links-style layout by the coast and can be subject to high winds although there’s nothing too dramatic in the forecast this week.      Hero World Challenge 2024 Golf betting tips Find my predictions and best tips for this year’s Hero World Challenge below. Try Scottie Scheffler winning margin For those that can’t see past yet another Scottie Scheffler win but aren’t too excited by his outright price of 12/5, there is an alternative. Last year, Scheffler won this event by three shots and five of his last eight PGA Tour wins were secured with a margin of at least three strokes. bet365 have a ‘Players Winning Margin’ market and Scheffler is an enticing 17/4 to win by three or more. Given that over half of his last eight wins were by that margin, getting over 4/1 for a repeat in such a small field seems good business. Back Scottie Scheffler winning margin at 17/4 with bet365 Robert MacIntyre best each-way bet For an each-way bet at huge odds, Daniel Brown leaps off the page. Brown was a relative unknown to the casual golf viewer until the summer but played some great golf to take the first-round lead and eventually finish 10th in the Open Championship at Royal Troon. The Englishman again showed his liking for links golf with a fourth place in the Irish Open at famed Royal County Down in September and last time out he hit the ball beautifully to finish third at the Andalucia Masters in Spain. Head to Paddy Power who make him a 150/1 shot and offer each-way terms of 1/5 odds, seven places.   Back Robert MacIntyre each-way at 25/1 with Betfair Ludvig Aberg for top 5 Ludvig Aberg returned to action after a two-month break following a knee op with 17th place at the RSM Classic in Georgia. A forgivable slow start left him near the bottom of the field but he roared back with a Friday 62 and a closing 64 and that gives him momentum for this. The World No.5 could definitely be in the mix come Sunday but, in a field of just 20 remember, let’s back him at 6/4 with Sky Bet to pull off the very achievable feat of finishing in the top five.  Back Ludvig Aberg to finish in the top 5 at 6/4 with Sky Bet How to watch the Hero World Challenge 2024 Venue – Albany GC, Albany, Bahamas Date – Thursday 5th December – Sunday 8th December Broadcast – Full coverage on Sky Sports Golf: Thursday-Friday 6.30pm – 9.30pm, Saturday 5pm – 10pm, Sunday 4.30pm – 9.30pm.
