The players will be split into eight groups of four and they will play each other, with a win awarding a player two points. Group matches will be best-of-nine legs and the top two players in each group (the ones with the most points) will progress through to the second round. Fixtures in the second round will be a winner of one group versus a runner-up from another. In the second round, the games become best-of-19 legs and knockout, with the loser being eliminated. The process is the same for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, with those matches being played as best-of-31 legs, which is also the case in the final.
