Germany and Spain were arguably the two best teams at Euro 2024.  On the face of it, that might seem like a strange statement as far as the former are concerned. Germany were the sole host nation in the summer, yet they were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Spain, the eventual champions, were the side that knocked them out. Germany gave them their toughest match of the tournament, with Mikel Merino finally dispatching of the hosts with a goal in the penultimate minute of extra time. Before that Germany had played some of the best football of the competition. Like Spain, they were smartly coached, in many ways resembling a club team. Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan retired after the Euros, however, and Nagelsmann has been tasked with rebuilding the midfield ahead of World Cup 2026.  Thomas Muller has also hung up his boots at international level after winning 131 caps for his country (only Lothar Matthaus and Miroslav Klose have been capped by Germany more often), while Manuel Neuer is another former stalwart who walked away after the summer. Those are four massive figures in the dressing room for Germany to lose in one fell swoop, but they have coped pretty well without the quartet so far.  A return of 10 points from a possible 12 has put them in a commanding position at the top of their Nations League group, where the Netherlands and Hungary are now engaged in a battle for the runners-up berth. Bosnia-Herzegovina have even more modest ambitions. They have drawn one and lost three of their four matches so far, and anything other than a win here would likely condemn them to relegation to League B. It would hardly be an unexpected demotion for Bosnia, whose primary concern on Saturday will be to keep the score down against a Germany team that will secure top spot with a win. Germany vs Bosnia-Herzegovina predictions

We are currently only two-thirds of the way through the group phase of the 2024/25 Nations League, but Germany have already booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are one of only two teams to have already advanced to the knockout rounds from League A. Spain are also through with two games to spare.

That is fitting.

⚽ Tip Germany with a -2 handicap at 11/10 with Betfred ⚽

Germany to win to nil

Germany have kept two clean sheets in their four games to date, shutting out Hungary on matchday one and the Netherlands in their most recent outing.

They did not manage to deny Bosnia-Herzegovina in the first game between the sides, but it will be hard for the visitors to Freiburg to create clear-cut chances this weekend.

Germany will dominate possession and press high up the pitch, so it will be hard enough for Bosnia to even get the ball in advanced areas.

Sergej Barbarez’s side have failed to score in four of their last six games. That bodes ill for their chances of making the net ripple against Germany in their penultimate game of the campaign.

⚽ Back Germany to win to nil at 8/11 with Betfred ⚽

Serge Gnabry to score any time

Jamal Musiala was forced to pull out of the Germany squad for the October internationals due to injury, but he is now ready to reclaim his place in the starting XI.

There is no shortage of options at the top of the pitch for Nagelsmann, who also has Florian Wirtz, the aforementioned Undav, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kai Havertz to call upon.

The anytime scorer market brings a slight risk given it is hard to know who Nagelsmann will pick to start, but Gnabry looks like a good choice overall.

He was in the XI against both Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands last month, playing centrally in one game and from the flank in the other.

Nagelsmann is clearly a fan of Gnabry and we like his chances of finding the back of the net against Bosnia.
