Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Taken to 'Hospital for Evaluation' After Injury During Trip Abroad

Pelosi, 84, was traveling with a congressional delegation in Luxembourg when she 'sustained an injury,' spokesman Ian Krager said

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was admitted to a hospital during a congressional delegation trip to Luxembourg.

Ian Krager, a spokesperson for the 84-year-old politician, said in a statement issued on Friday, Dec. 13 that she "sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation." 

This occurred while "traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge," he shared.

Krager added that "Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals. She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL [congressional member delegation] engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers." 

Her spokesperson clarified that Pelosi was in Europe, where she "was personally and officially honored to travel with the distinguished delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II — including her uncle, Johnny."
