‘Fool’ – Simon Jordan rips into KSI’s behaviour in bold defence of Wayne Bridge after fight withdrawal
Simon Jordan hasn’t held back in his view of KSI as he slammed his behaviour towards Wayne Bridge. ‘The Nightmare’ announced that he would fight former England and Chelsea defender Bridge in a Misfits Boxing clash on March 29, and the pair faced off in Manchester on Saturday. Bridge and KSI clashed with the latter bringing up previous scandalsGETTY Things got heated as the pair met for the first time, with KSI resorting to trash talk. During his outburst, he referenced Chelsea great John Terry‘s high-profile affair with Bridge’s ex-wife Vanessa Perronce in 2009. KSI sung an expletive song regarding the situation, before pushing Bridge as the pair were separated by security. Less than 48 hours after the fight was confirmed, Bridge released a statement confirming he would no longer fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer. talkSPORT co-host and ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has blamed KSI for the cancellation of the event, but insists Bridge knew what he was letting himself in for. “Wayne you must have expected that,” Jordan began when discussing the withdrawal. “But I listen to it more, I think it is so unedifying. I think it was an undignified and unnecessary outburst.” Jordan continued: “We have heard people say things to sell fights, but I think Wayne Bridge’s statement is very balanced, mature and fair. “What a way to behave and what of a thing to said. Wayne Bridge is known for a lot more than the antics of his personal life. “He was an England international footballer that played for top clubs, so he’s achieved things in sport what this little twerp is yet to do. Jordan wasn’t impressed with KSI’s outburst towards Bridge “Wayne Bridge put himself in the way of that outburst, but I was imagine he was surprised by it. “But I think it makes KSI look like a fool, an uncouth turd. His audience are 12-year-old kids. I think it was deeply unpleasant.” KSI was roared on by the crowd during his tirade, and it clearly angered Bridge who was fired up backstage. But unfortunately it appeared to have fired up the ex-defender too much, as he decided to turn his back on the event. Bridge had fought before in a charity bout against reality TV star Spencer Matthews seven years ago, but was a surprise pick for KSI. The Misfits Boxing CEO will now have to find a replacement with the date two months away. Bridge was furious at the time and then decided to call it quitsGetty And Bridge alluded to the fact that he’d decided to pull out after assessing the situation to protect his family. He said in his statement: “I always like to challenge myself. This felt like a good opportunity to go up against an interesting opponent on a big stage. I have always loved boxing as part of my everyday training routine. “I was fully prepared to train hard and have some fun. Of course, I expected to face some criticism, but I feel like what was said on Saturday crossed a line. “These are deeply personal comments that affect mine and other families involved in the situation. I’m a family man first and my priority is protecting them. “My opponent is someone that many children look up to around the world, including my kids. I hope one day he will look back on this differently. I personally don’t want to be involved in these exchanges. “I will no longer be fighting on March 29. I’m still looking out for my next big challenge and have some exciting things coming up in 2025. Thanks for all the love.” Follow talkBOXING on social media talkBOXING is now on Twitter and Facebook.
