First look at $35million Miami venue that will host Angel Reese and WNBA’s finest in brand new offseason competition

The doors have been opened to the highly anticipated Unrivaled universe. The 3-on-3 basketball league has shown off it’s venue and the facilities behind its self-declared ‘customised sports league.’ Angel Reese will play for Rose Basketball in the Unrivaled League Every seat is a good seat in the arena Unrivaled, a new women’s basketball league set to feature some of the biggest WNBA stars, has finished site renovations and have created a premier basketball venue.  The league, which was founded by Olympians and basketball stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, begins play in just over a week. All six-teams in the league are to be hosted in the same venue for all nine weeks with all six changing rooms in one building. Unrivaled recently announced its six team names after weeks of high-profile announcements: the Laces, Mist, Rose, Lunar Owls, Phantom, and Vinyl will battle it out for the title. The site, which will host the likes of Angel Reese and Sabrina Ionescu, used to be an empty parking lot and a production studio but has gone through a stunning transformation in six weeks. Behind the scenes footage reveals huge LED boards, a red carpet known as the “Hype Hall”, a weight facility, a glam room designed by makeup brand Sephora and plush seatings for its fans. With a capacity of 850, every seat in the arena is courtside according to President of Basketball Operations Luke Cooper with the seats that are higher up dubbed as “elevated courtside seats” The reasoning behind a small-venue could be down to factors like scheduling conflicts with the Miami Heat who play at the Kaseya Center. Another reason cited is that they are focusing on the TV-aspect of the league with their media-rights deal with TNT Sports the core of its business and not ticket sales. 99% of seats are already sold out and fans who attend the game can access a courtside club which features TVs and a bar. Aside from great seating for its fans, the site was able to spare little expense on amenities for its players due to the huge investment they have received in recent months.  A recent Series A funding raised a combined $35 million and includes big investors like Coco Gauff and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The building also contains a family room, nursery, podcast room and esthetician room to meet every wide and varying need of the 36 players who will play in the league. The site is measured at 130,000 square feet and is seven miles away from Miami International Airport, every game will be played in this arena but league executives have teased they may put games on the road in future editions. Unrivaled kicks off January 17, with the first day of games featuring Angel Reese’s Rose Basketball who play Vinyl Basketball.
