Harbaugh said he “could tell there were some irregular beats going on” in his heart during the game. He said he was given intravenous fluids and an EKG test by the Chargers’ athletic training staff. Jim subsequently underwent medical testing with a cardiologist after experiencing an irregular heartbeat. Harbaugh attributed it to an “atrial flutter” he’s had in the past. Jim has suffered from arrhythmia — an irregular heartbeat that can cause the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or with an irregular rhythm — for years. Thankfully he’s been fine ever since and there have been no further health scares. The Chargers are 8-5 in the AFC West.
