Paddy Power split £180,000 evenly between Kist, a random fan picked out by the Sky Sports cameras and Prostate Cancer UK. Kist only found out about his payday in the break after winning the opening set of his first-round clash with Madars Razma. “It was a special moment for me yesterday and for the fan and for the charity. It was great,” he told the Daily Mail. “I was very surprised. A nice surprise. I said nothing, ‘Oh nice that’s nice’ [upon being told of the sum]. I will spend the money on my family, maybe a holiday. “I don’t know I didn’t think a lot about it because all the fans at home want to speak so I didn’t really think about the money. “I would like to go on holiday when I don’t have to play or train so can rest.” Kist went on to lose despite scoring the first Ally Pally nine-darter since Michael Smith hit one in his 2023 final win over Michael van Gerwen. He met up with the lucky fan – a railway worker from Sutton called Kris – after the game. “It was very special for me. It feels great.
