Daniel Dubois accused of stealing Oleksandr Usyk’s moment with bizarre call-out after Tyson Fury rematch win
Daniel Dubois gatecrashed Oleksandr Usyk’s post-fight interview on Saturday night to call for a rematch. Usyk was in outstanding form in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as he scored a second consecutive win over Fury on points. Let’s go. “Where is Frank [Warren], let it happen?” Usyk appeared to agree: “Your Excellency, make me fight with Daniel Dubois, thank you so much. “Yeah, no problem. I am ready, the next fight. No problem.” Dubois’ antics were not well received by talkSPORT’s Gareth A. Davies and Spencer Oliver, who accused the Brit of stealing Usyk’s moment. “He was doorstepping the moment. I don’t agree with it,” said Davies on the talkSPORT broadcast. Some claimed the punch, which floored Usyk for several minutes, was legal and should have been counted while others insisted it had strayed low. The referee determined it was an illegal blow and so Usyk was given four minutes to recover before rebounding to stop Dubois in the ninth round with a stiff jab.
