One woman is cherishing the unexpected connection between her two favorite people.
Emma Noyes met her husband, Pontus, in January 2022. After meeting online, the two began dating. When Pontus had to return to Sweden, where he is from, to pursue his finance degree at Lund University, he asked Emma to join him.
"I said yes," she tells PEOPLE. "Shortly after we moved back to the U.S. together, he proposed."
One of the things that made Emma's yes so easy was how seamlessly Pontus fit into her family life. In particular, he hit it off with her 91-year-old grandmother, whom they call Gramsie.
"Gramsie is a total ham. Having your significant other meet her is sort of a rite of passage in our family," she recalls.
"I told Pontus that she loves sweets, so he brought her a giant bar of Marabou, a Swedish chocolate. I think she fell in love with him as soon as he handed her that chocolate bar, and they've been best friends ever since."
