Radio personality Charlamagne tha God insists that his friend and former mentor, Wendy Williams, is doing just fine and shows no signs of being “incapacitated.”

The controversial host of “The Breakfast Club” took to the air Tuesday morning to share his take on the 60-year-old’s frame of mind following troubling claims made in November via a court filing from Williams’ court-appointed guardian.

Speaking to his co-hosts Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy Tuesday morning, Charlamagne claimed that he and Williams caught up with one another during a phone call over the holiday break.

“She was… [she] seemed perfectly fine to me,” he stated, adding, “Wendy [sounds] like she can do radio tomorrow if she wanted to.”

Charlamagne’s comments correlate with what most have seen of Williams in recent memory, with the ex-talk show host appearing alert and present at her son’s graduation in December.

According to Charlamagne, Williams was just as in control of her mental state during their phone conversation.

“She called me, and I don’t know what ‘incapacitated’ means in regards to dementia or whatever they said she was dealing with,” he alleged, as reported in VIBE, “but no, ain’t nothing incapacitated about Wendy Williams.”

To cement his belief, Charlamagne hilariously brought up how Williams questioned why he didn’t seem more enthused to hear from his old friend.

“She asked [me], ‘Why are you answering the phone like we just spoke yesterday [or] last week?’ She wanted me to be more excited [that] she called me,” he admitted with a laugh.

When asked how Williams’ energy seemed to be, Charlamagne gave a succinct response - “She sounds like Wendy Williams!”

He then noted how his phone accidentally slipped into recording mode as he washed his hands, something Williams picked up on instantly – and dismissed just as quickly.

“Nah, you wouldn’t do that,” Charlamagne-as-Wendy insisted.

“She’s perfectly normal,” he then attested.

Wendy Williams’ Guardian Claims In Legal Docs That Talk Show Host Isn't Well

Charlamagne’s comments contrast what was reportedly indicated in a legal filing by Williams’ guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, in November in her suit against A&E Networks, Lifetime Entertainment, and several affiliates behind the four-part docuseries, “Where Is Wendy Williams?”

In a report from PEOPLE, Williams was said to be “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated” as a result of her continued battle with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. As such, Williams was purportedly in no condition to be filmed, but Lifetime did so anyway.

“’[Where Is Wendy Williams?'] was filmed without a valid contract and released without Guardian’s consent,” Morrisey’s claim reads while adding that Williams was "clearly incapable of consenting to [be] filmed, much less humiliated and exploited."

A&E has countersued Morrisey, saying that no one from Williams’ team – including Morrissey herself – requested that filming be halted.
