Brenda Song hopes to keep her kids out of the spotlight for as long as possible.
Speaking with Bustle for their cover story, The Last Showgirl actress, 36, opened up about taking her two sons – Dakota, 3, and Carson, 2 — to partner Macaulay Culkin's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in December 2023.
"That was such a special moment. We couldn't have them miss that," Song says of her two sons, but admits that "Dak was scared of all the cameras."

"That's one of the reasons why we sort of keep them away," she continues, referencing the Hollywood spotlight. "They did not understand what was happening."
Later, a situation at a soccer game proved to Song that she'd made the right choice.
"My son was like, 'Why is that man taking pictures of you, mama?' " she remembers. "You could take pictures of me all day. I don't care. But when it's your kids, it's different. They didn't ask for this life."
This past December, Culkin revealed in an interview with E! News that he and Song "go all out at Christmas in our house" for their two sons.
"Because right now, they're at the magic age where they believe, and we want to nurture that belief," Culkin said, adding that he even has a plan for explaining where he'll be while screening Home Alone across the country this month.
"I told them that I'm at Santa's workshop fixing toys, because that's what I do for them at home," he said. "I'm so good that Santa Claus called me up to the North Pole. They're totally fine with that."
When it comes to gifts, his kids' tastes appear to be overlapping — Dakota "wants a Spider-Man truck, he wants a truck from New York City and he wants more presents," while his youngest son wants a truck of his own.
"And my youngest heard exactly what he said. He goes, 'I want a garbage truck. I want garbage bins and I want more presents.' It's like they're wishing for more wishes," Culkin said. "I'm like, 'You guys are certainly my sons.' "
