Billie Eilish fans are laying into Beyoncé on social media after the latter walked away with the coveted "Album of the Year" Grammy award at this year's ceremony.

The criticism comes after Beyoncé won the prestigious title following four losses between the years of 2008 and 2022.

On social media, Eilish fans are expressing their disapproval of Beyoncé's latest Grammy wins while grieving the fact that Eilish received zero despite having seven nominations.

Eilish Fans Were Upset She Was Crying During Beyoncé's Speech

Eilish fans have grown increasingly concerned over the singer's well-being after she was seen crying during Beyoncé's acceptance speech for "Album of the Year." After the "Cowboy Carter" singer was named the winner, the camera panned to Eilish, who had the most streamed song on Spotify in 2024, who was visibly upset.

The "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" singer was wearing a black ensemble with a backward baseball cap. The glasses she sported on the red carpet were also off of her face, which showcased her teary eyes.

On X, users flooded the platform to share their thoughts about seeing the "Hit Me Hard and Soft" performer crying at the Grammys.

"I'm so mad," one user wrote. "She deserved at least one award."

Another fan expressed their disappointment with the "academy" for snubbing her only to "show her crying when she lost."

"F-ck the academy, respectfully," they wrote.

Others believed the singer was crying tears of joy after witnessing Beyoncé earn the title following so many years.

Eilish's album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," was released in May 2024 and featured the popular singles "BIRDS OF A FEATHER," "LUNCH," and "CHIHIRO."

The project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and had all 10 songs chart within the Top 40 of the Hot 100.

Although "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100, the single was the most streamed song on Spotify in 2024. Eilish performed the track at the Grammys and received positive reactions from the crowd.

Her project also earned her seven Grammy nominations, including "Record of the Year," "Song of the Year," and "Album of the Year." However, she lost all of her categories, which didn't sit well with her fans online.

Users React To Eilish's Tears And Grammy Snub

After realizing Eilish would end the night with zero wins, fans of the young adult began comparing her album to Beyoncé's online. According to several users, Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" was more deserving of many other released projects, especially "Cowboy Carter."

"[You all] cannot sit here and tell that Billie did not deserve at least one award," one user wrote on X. "Especially ["Album of the Year"].

"[Zero] Grammys for this album and for Billie is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen," another user commented. "They did her so wrong. She definitely at least deserved ["Album of the Year"] and "Song of the Year." [Her] album is pure art."

Another user shared a bold claim, saying awards should be given to those who earn the win rather than those it's "long overdue" for.

However, many other users defended Beyoncé, acknowledging the singer's long journey since stepping onto the scene in the '90s.

"[I don't think y'all understand how insane this is. [Beyoncé is the] FIRST BLACK woman since 1999 to win an ["Album of the Year"]. Beyoncé, I'm telling my grandkids about you as if I was your firstborn," someone wrote.

Other users also pointed out how Eilish lost to several different artists that night, including Kendrick Lamar for his chart-topping single "Not Like Us," yet they're seemingly only upset with Beyoncé.

"All this energy for Beyoncé is.. suspicious," a watcher posted. "Sabrina won categories that Billie was a contender for, and you weirdos have no energy for her. Why is that?"

Another person agreed, saying it's "very telling" how Eilish fans are "focusing on her losing to Beyoncé as if she didn’t lose to [seven] other people that night."
